1st Birthday

It was a Magical Day, and I'm sad it's almost over.

Missoni make a Bear. Who Knew?
The Baby wore Ralph Lauren. I wore Malene Birger. Naturally.

Wheeled out a pair of Manolos. It was a Red Letter Day after all.

Made everything the night before so I only had to action assemblage.

All the Big Names came for Dinner.
And the baby's 1st Birthday cake was a lemon curd layer cake. It was seriously delicious.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I wish I could go back to the start and do it all over again, because I have loved having a baby and being a mother to my gorgeous baby boy. Today was very happy and emotional.
I'll never forget how I felt when I saw you for the first time.
Happy First Birthday.
You are the Perfect Baby and we all love You Beyond Measure.

  7. How perfect. Baby is such a chubby real boy. I love it how you love him and your family so much. In other blogs I read there is very little mention of all the help the grand mothers give, let alone appreciation. I love it that you do. I have to go. I've just noticed a chip in my nails. By the way love those Manolos. xo

    1. My Mum does so much for me, she drives 3 hours and stays over 2 nights to care for the baby so I can work, I am very very lucky.

She said the day before his birthday was the best day she's ever had with him, like he knew it was his last day of zero before he turned 1!

  16. Noooo!!! I can't believe he's one! Happy, happy birthday little FF! I can still remember all those conflicting emotions when my children slamed, somewhat unexpectantly (Go figure!)into the same milestone. (They're now 22, 20 & 9). Thank you for sharing such precious moments, it made me remember my equally as amazing memories.

  33. Oh dear, a tear to my eye too! He is just getting cuter by the the day - is that possible? Your Mum is a complete gem. Lots more happy memories for her of their personal time together. It is a very special time. Ms A still talks about when we used to drive to my Mums house on a Friday morning (no day care), she was <2 yrs but still remembers that Nanna used to cook her boiled eggies and that i was NOT to give her breakfast that morning because she was going to Nanna's. She even remembers going to the deli at Woolies and nanna would buy her a cheerio. The kind lady at Woolies did it this week and she is 11! First time ever, I didn't ask either. Ms A's face lit up like no tomorrow. She said it reminded her of Nanna. Very special. Love the look of the lollie jars too! x

PS Just checked out RPE blog, when you see Lotus for lunch (yes, we know your appointments for the day) tell her I'm embracing leopard as a neutral today too. And I said the very same thing to myself as I pulled on leopardy tunic thing today! Thanks again FF.

  42. Happy 1st Birthday Baby FF. Wow what a fab first year you have had. I remember my son's first Birthday - it was not the serene and sophisticated soiree I see here. I over extended having 60 people in the park and it was a crazy day that kept pouring with rain one minute and then bright sunshine the next so I spent the whole morning ringing people saying it's at our place, then calling back and saying no it's in the park. I was picking up part of the catering (I crazily did the rest - 6 different kinds of gourmet salads and dessert for 60 oh yes) and proceeded to get stuck in a Sydney traffic jam for an hour and a half and my beautifully handmade Women's Weekly cookbook train cake de-railed in the back seat. Needless to say I actually took smoking up again on that day and have never over-extended on a party since.
    India x
P.S. I no longer smoke terrible habit.
