I don't know where the rest of you stand in relation to a Mr Lincoln retro-gorgeous rose but I am a Hardcore Fan. They smell like musk lollies and look the Business at all times. No wonder they were my late Grandma's favourite.
The Whippersnapper lawn mower man made a cameo appearance in the Postage stamp sized FF garden today. Everything looks about 2000% better. I note he now actions most of my neighbours gardens too. I found him first. I should be on commission.
Still amassing a silent army a la Rommel. Look:
Meanwhile Princess Mary's tripping the Light Fantastic in New York carrying some sort of excellent high end designer knitted bag arrangement. I'd quite like that bag myself.
Are you embracing a twinset? Me too. They are Excellent in every regard. You already know I bought this one in about 2008 from the airport train station in Hong Kong. My Spiritual Home.
I always forget to wear these Miu Mius. Don't ask me why because there shell whatsies are 11/10. Got them from Jean brown. Speaking of which,
Prepare yourselves emotionally because look, just LOOK at these fantastic orange (ORANGE!!) and navy YSL shoes that have turned up at Jean Brown:
I know. They are Stunning. I'm not getting them because now that Frugal Feb's passed, I might give Miserly March a Red Hot Go. But the rest of you should. Run Don't Walk!!!
In other terrifying developments, this is sort of programme I am currently Bearing Witness to round these here parts:
| I kneel therefore I am |
This can only end in tears.
I really like the layering action that Mary's rocking here. Do you think it's Malene Birger?
Anyone baked any cheesecakes?
You know you want to
I hate to introduce a sad note, but I see that the Live Cattle Trade is back in the news and horrifying people everywhere. my Mum's hopped on the bandwagon and already emailed everyone from the Prime Minister down to express her disgust. I'm a Joiner and you should be too. Barbarism has no place in 2012.
I looked at these frocks at the outnet and liked them, but then remembered Minimalist March and clicked away. But they're good aren't they?
Davey from the Monkees died. I can't get Cheer Up Sleepy Jean out of my mind.
I have a reply button on comments now.
Exult the New Technology.

Funny how mower men do that - I notice ours is now visiting the Next Doors and the Over the Roads, too!
ReplyDeleteDear little boy FF, kneeling and standing - he is the cutest. Take off day can't be far away now. Lots of bumped noggins then - ends in tears as you so rightly say :)
Those orange/navy sandals are To Die For! Serious case of sandal lust here!!
Dear P
DeleteI want those shoes so much my heart is racing, but they are sure to be 'spensive.
Amber are you reading this???
Meanwhile Gilt is having a lovely Kate Spade frock sale....
Baby FF looks very steady on his feet. He might be walking by the weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter got a fashion book when she was a teen, with a cheesecake recipe in it. (Some boy pleasing idea.) She is now the family's official Cheesecake Maker. She can even do one with no carbs - with an almond meal crust and Splenda, instead of sugar.
Hey Beryl,
DeleteCan i just say I luff it that you are a STALWART of this blog. I always feel cheered when I see your comments. Do you live overseas?
Best, FF xx
Wow, the baby is getting so big!
ReplyDeleteI can't walk in big heels anymore, 3 inches is my limit, but even then only for going out, flats for day now, my feet can't take it anymore.
I love old fashioned blowsy roses.
I can't handle the heels either, but i love how they look! x
DeleteBaby FF looks so happy pottering about. He's such a cutie.
ReplyDeleteBaby G decided to wake up at 4am for no reason whatsoever and has only has 2 45min naps since. Refused anything else. She was so tired by her bath time she was nodding off in her little chair. Never happened before because she loves her bath.
I love those shoes and Mary's outfits. She always looks fantastic.
K xx
At that age I could get 8 hoours of day sleep out of the baby!!!!!!!! That is one tired baby.
DeleteMeanwhile I can hear my kid in his cot clearly Un-asleep!!!!!
Good luck with the sleep tonight x
Loving the action shot of Baby FF going Vertical. Can't believe that chap from The Monkees has died, oh dear, feeling v old now. xxxx
ReplyDeleteThe strange bug that prevents comments has struck me here, so I changed browser and Lo and Behold, hello Comment Box! Damn you sometimes Firefox.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are the business but I admire your strength and commitment to frugality. It really is a lifestyle.
Look at that little man standing and cruising. He is growing so quickly.
Mary always looks stunning. I was reading about her sister-in-law the other day. They are very alike.
Dear S
DeleteYou are a blog stalwart too. Hooray.I am unsure how I'll go in March- it is the Baby's birthday soon! x
FF, you are so much better than a G&T at the end of a long day. Your Mr Lincolns aren't bad either.
ReplyDeleteGood for your Mum. She deserves a row of putty medals and a gold star. I too have emailed everyone from the Ruler of the Universe down to the Prime Minister. Whether it will make any difference remains to be seen. Here's hoping.
ReplyDeleteA little bit of FF always brightens my day! I can not fathom Baby FF walking. I am sure he is still a newborn. Where has that time gone?
ReplyDeleteAlso - Princess Mary is living proof that fairytales can come true. She is truly fabulous and always has amazing taste in fashion.
And jewellery! Don't forget her superior collection of High-End Danish Silver (how was that for an attempt at a Fuchsia-ism?). Really, I think we should all just quit the English monarchy and pledge our allegiance to the Danes. Even our GG likes a bit of Georg Jensen, so I think she could be swayed.
DeleteMore beautiful roses, your garden sure knows how to produce. I am also loving the action shots, Baby FF priming himself for takeoff any day now. Looks like its almost time to batten down the hatches and brace yourself. I'm afraid I have to confess a 11/10 failure at frugal feb, I'm letting the cat out of the bag here, but there's a BabyT on the way at beginning of June as as you know, they are expensive start up maximalists!
ReplyDeleteMinimalist March! Way to go FF! - You may yet join me on the 12 months clothes fast. Costs nothing to participate.
ReplyDeleteJudith of Canberra (12 months with no new clothes)
Loving this post.
ReplyDeleteFirstly your Mum deserves a medal. She is a stalwart for the rights of animals and I yet again join her efforts
Mary of Denmark is a stalwart of this blog too and always nails her look
Baby F F is the business. He will be tottering and teetering like no get out.
Now the fun starts.
KateB x
Your little guy will have a ball de-cushioning your lounge! Your Mr Lincoln is stunning, my favourite is David Austin Heritage. We also have another in the garden called Brandy and it so lovely :) Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteV x
RIP Davy Jones. Another part of my girlhood gone. Had a quiet misty eye when watching the news and seeing them in their prime, as I did when they played at Sydney Stadium, Sept 1968 (what a great year!).
ReplyDeleteLooks like FF Jr is ready to "run, don't walk". Such an exciting time watching them achieve their mile stones.

Your roses are gorgeous! I'm a big fan of Cecille Brunner, an Old School Retro Fave!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics, those shoes are sublime, I love a nautical look, but must be careful not to 'cross the line' into costume territory!
Luv your work as always.
Meg
Such adorable photos of Baby FF. My own baby is 20. The time goes so fast. Cherish each and every moment, even the mundane ones.
ReplyDeleteOh the Mr. Lincoln rose! It's gorgeous, my Mum has them and they look great in a big bunch in my striped purple/white vase. We splashed out and planted the Papa Meilland last year, another beautiful smelling, blowsy, rich red number. I do love a baby in star shorts, too cute. Look out Fuschiadome, he's on the move! Am with your Mum on the petition signing and emailing, something has to be done. Hope you're having a lovely week.
ReplyDeletebaby ff is so dang cute and walking is just around the corner. your life will never be the same! i love mr. lincoln too. and i'm saddened to hear about the cattle trade again. xo janet
ReplyDeleteGorgeous roses. Gorgeous baby. And wholeheartedly agree with you on the cattle issue.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing baby FF beginning to walk. It is hard to believe he is old enough.
ReplyDeleteI do love Mr. Lincoln roses but have not had any success with them. Wish I had a green thumb. I will just have to stick with the knock-out roses which are easy to grow in my area.
The shoes remind me of the shoes I wore back in the '70s. I was a nursing student and on class days we could wear regular clothes instead of a uniform. One of my favorites was a blue jumpsuit type of outfit and my platform shoes. With my Farrah hair, I thought I was the bee's knees, lol.

i am saddened to learn the live cattle trade is baaaack...right, it has no place in 2012! i will stay tuned.
ReplyDeletegorgeous flowers. i can almost smell those roses! (my all-time favorite flower, oh the scent...!)
Hi FF, I have baked a cheesecake last Saturday. You were my inspiration! It was 11/10 in your jargon, and sadly all gone by Tuesday morning. I think I'll auction more baking this weekend. Many thanks for the inspiration! I'll also auction some decluttering, and maybe even put on some nail polish. Promiss to take it off the moment it chips. Don't comment regularly, but I luff your blog :)
ReplyDelete-ie
Poor Davy - its I'm a Believer that's going round in my brain. Love those roses - its wonderful to have a plant special to your family. I have London Pride and Ice Plant in my garden that come from bits from my dear grandfather's garden - they are very special to me.
ReplyDeletePrincess Mary always looks beautiful, and so do you in your twinset - gorgeous.
So sad about the awful live cattle exports. Thinking about it keeps me up at night. Good for your dear mum! xxx
Hi ff....
ReplyDeleteYou should get the DVD called 'The Kingdom' - behind the scenes''. It is a doco about the Danish royal family. Mary is great in it -as is her sister in law. You can buy it from JB HiFi. I know you would just luff the vast array of cashmere twinsets in it. Run dont walk.
ML
Little man on his pins! It had to happen! The pain of falling will teach him not to, does he look all bewildered and surprised when he loses his balance and just manages to save himself after a twist when he is going down? mine did, they looked so scared and it was like- "what just happened?"
ReplyDeleteI failed in frugal Feb so miserly march is the mode now, hopefully I have no trips to big shopping centres this month. Toowoomba and the Gold Coast blew me out in Feb! The only problem is that I have lost some weight and have to get some new clothes for winter!
I have been actioning mini baked cheescakes in creme brulee pots and a bain marie with no crust and using that sweetener called natvia in the place of sugar, it's great, expensive but fab.
Davy Jones - lovely memories of the fun times. Another part of my girlhood gone. I saw them at the Sydney Stadium in September 1968 ahhh.
ReplyDeleteAlmost walking Wow. It is so wonderful to watch each new achievement of their lives. Enjoy it.
Oh i just love roses that actually smell! Ms A and I were walking to school and our elderly neighbour has a beautiful old red rose flowering. Just beautiful. Ms A said "mumma, she must love gardening". Out of the mouth of babes - translates into our front garden does NOT look like our neighbours. If it survived the drought, it stayed and everything else just went!
ReplyDeleteBaby FF is ADORABLE! He will be trying on your shoes soon. Will they be the YSL's??? so luff them. You are very strong.
I see there is a cookbook out called "Merle's Kitchen". She makes a superior sponge. I musts investigate. Old school CWA cooking and winner of many cake shows. I am in :)
I love roses so much. I am just waiting for things to cool down so I can get planting in The Farmhouse garden.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Jean/ Day Dream Believer is one of my favourite songs. Very sad.
My frugal February was a big fat fail. Oh well.
Baby FF looks fantastic - so cute.
I love roses, my poor ones are in serious need of some treatment if only this damn rain would stop!
ReplyDeleteMary is so gorgeous, I totally agree about that bag.
Almost walking, it happens so quickly and is followed by running. Very exciting but scary how fast they get.
HA HA, can't believe Baby FF is standing up already. He'll be running around in no time.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of your twin set by the way. Very Chanel!
And that cheesecake looks fantastic!
Dear FF, ANother lovely post and yes I want to spend money and bake cheesecake!! Neither of which I should. Your cheesecake looks so yummy. I can't believe your baby is cruising already! I think that's what they call it when they start pulling up to get around. Little devils. So cute, but nerve-wracking!
ReplyDeleteI am so sad about Davy too. I did a post on it with a link to Daydream Believer, the sweetest song :(
Kim
I love a smelly rose....Mr Lincoln and Papa Mielland are both beautiful!!! I gave up trying to grow them as the wallabies used to nibble at them all the time.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting that the adorable baby FF is almost walking!!!
you will have such fun planning his first birthday party!!
I am still sad about Davey, the only bonus was the extra Monkeys songs on the radio. I do love a twinset.
ReplyDeleteI want your baked cheesecake!!
ReplyDeleteI spent quite a lot of money on David Austin roses a few years ago - beautiful scented bursts of velvet they were. Really bad winter in 2010 killed every single one. But I refused to dig them out, hoping against hope that a little root might send forth a shoot - but nothing yet :-(
ReplyDeleteLuffing those shoes!
And the baby is waaaaalking - and yes it will end in tears - yours - because he's changing. Enjoy every single minute of this - he's going from baby to toddler really, really quickly (((hug))
I spent a day trying to be you a couple of weeks ago. But not in a stalkery way - nice clothes, make up. Trying to bake and be a grown up kind of thing. Failed miserably - I am simply not sorted enough to pull it all off.
While we may all embrace our inner Fuchsia, I think we all know there is only ONE FF!!!
lots of love
Ali x
Bub is determined to rearrange those cushions and why not I say, cushion arranging is in his genes. Lined up at Bunnings last year buying rose bushes the lady behind said I should buy Mr Lincoln as they were the best, only problem was Bunnings didn't have them in stock or I would have done as I was told.
ReplyDeleteOh what with Davy's passing and the live cattle fiasco rearing it's ugly head again it's enough to make anyone feel gloomy. Every time I hear Daydream Believer I get teary and I wonder if I have the stamina to write dozens more emails to blasted politicians.
Isn't it nice that today is a bit cooler.
xx
ps. glad you sorted the comment whatsey, it is handy.
I'm a Fuschiatarian. Have been for a few months now, didn't realize it was a cult but I'm in too deep now. I've always been suspicious of ginger plants and had a thing for heavily discounted designer gear. It's made me realise that the drought, floods and pestilence in my garden are not really biblical in comparison and that I need to action more baking. Plus I've sharpened up my act on accessorising and shopping the wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteThose navy and orange shoes are superb, there must be another way to action such a high end colour combination.
Good work on monitoring Our Mary's wardrobe, as always she looks so polished.
