Baked Potato.

If you're doing a low carb diet in prep for Christmas, this is not the post for you!
Click away Now!
Because my new addiction is baked potatoes dressed to the nines in sour cream, crispy bacon, chives, bean salad, caviar, crushed pineapple (we go retro in the Fuchsiadome and we don't care who knows) ...the list goes on!
They taste like my childhood.
They work a treat on their own or resting against some lovely bbq meat or roast chicken. I microwave mine then rub them with butter and salt and wrap them in alfoil and shove them in the oven for about 8 minutes.

  1. Yuuuuum! I've not tried baked potatoes with pineapples before. Sounds interesting.

  2. I've never met a baked potato I didn't like! xx

    1. thought of you when I added the tinned 1950s pineapple.

  3. Dear FF

What are you doing to us!!! I'm hungry already!

    Best wishes, Pamela

  4. We retro it up in The Farmhouse kitchen regularly. If it was good enough for me in the 70s it will be brilliant now!

    Loving the frequent posting.

  5. You are right about the best baked potato routine. My husband does the microwave first then oven to make great baked potatoes too. Hasn't been as successful with sweet potatoes, though.

  6. FF you have inspired me to action a Baked Potato...haven't had one for years!!! So YUM!!!

  7. Yum! Thanks for the reminder of the ol' baked potato - for how long do you pop it in the micro prior to its baking??

  8. I hadn't thought of the microwave then oven trick - genius! Will try next time I am feeling lazy...probably tonight ;) L xx

  9. You don't mess around when you dress a potato! I've actually got some spuds in that I am planning to bake for my suppers this week - I was going to go old-school twice baked with an egg broken into it.

  10. Dear FF,
This pic is a dream for me. I'm a carb lover and think that the humble potato has been kicked to the kerb and needs to be brought back. And back it has with these accessories.
There is no doubt that the 70's revival is well and truly here to stay.
    Impressed 11/10.

  11. I sometimes bake a potato in the microwave at work for lunch and load it with stuff I keep in the fridge in our little office kitchen. I've never tried pineapple with baked potato and will next time.

  12. Yummy - you might consider more food/entertaining posts- how to that is. For those of us who lack your style and panache. Genuinely serious your JB acquaintance

  13. Do you use dutch creams? They make the best baked spud.
