Behold the Magnificence of the sole pink iceberg rose bud in the FF Garden.
Meanwhile here's a Garden Vignette I actioned on the weekend. Not to be confused with a Vinaigrette.
Say what you will about the Ole FF Garden, it's capable of being spruced and gussied up with the help of a soft focus lens and some high end heavily discounted accessories.
Meanwhile, Hooray for the 1st FF Garden Gardenia of the year!
And here's our 1st porcelain ginger flower:
Went to Willow's for a cocktail party on Saturday night. Wore this white frock -
and was cold so had to borrow Willow's gold suede and leather jacket. I luffed it! If she didn't know where I lived I would've stolen it for myself.
This delicious cocktail was heavily reliant on limes and it was absolutely limetastic. And Healthy.
Because of all that vitamin C.
Loving a soothing cold lunch of cured meats? Me too.
I predict that YELLOW will be the next bug thing. Frankly I can't get enough. I particularly love the Red Phoenix yellow Leo necklace. It's Beautiful.
Look how good it looks with my new heavily discounted Target top:
Met my 3 lovely girlfriends for lunch. T was wearing this fabulous bird brooch:
Popped into the Magic of Jean Brown to collect my sale spoils. Admired these Louboutins.
I do luff leopard.
These Mischa totes are selling fast, so Run Don't Walk People. I predict they will be THE summer accessory. And not just because I own one and am carrying it to death either.
Picked up some very special shoes.
I'll save their Magnificence for tomorrow's post. You'd better prepare yourselves Emotionally because they are Fabulous.
What's everyone having for dinner tonight? As soon as the Baby wakes up I'm off to the shops to forage for food. Speaking of which apparently as they get closer to 2 they stop sleeping for hours in the morning and hours in the afternoon and start having (crosses self) only 1 sleep...fingers and toes that the Baby will NOT be a Joiner. I luff it that he still sleeps for up to 4 hours during the day. So handy for Me.
xxxxxx

I think my youngest is about to drop all his naps. He is edging close to 2.5, so that is about the age where many drop them all together. Boo hoo! Love the new shoes (saw them on FB). Was considering a pair of L's in DJ's the other week in an ox blood colour, apparently the Big Thing next Winter. As I don't have an office job to dress up for though, the cost per wear might not pan out very well..... love the gardenia. xx
ReplyDeleteHe's slept for 4 house today...still asleep now. Wish it would last forever!
Deletex
You know I did buy my first pair of heavily reduced Christian Louboutins because of your good self, and I am not sorry. They are black lace covered nudist coloured satin with a peep toe. I am giddy when I look at them. They are amazingly comfortable! Have the glamour of pre-made marinated chicken kebabs and frozen peas for dinner. Your Target top is gorg. Did you like Cavalli's stuff?
ReplyDeletefrom Jean Brown??
DeleteI liked Cavalli's stuff kind of, thought some was nice, some was awful.
Liked the maxi frocks.
Bought a blue 1 piece swimsuit arrangement for summer.
Yes, Jean Brown, I agree re Cavallii, the black jacket is a stunner but it misses the Cavallii point, I guess. The floral caftan and leopard is nice, lovely cottony fabric. Great value, too.
DeleteDear FF,
ReplyDeleteSeriously love a soft focus and a dress up in the yard, does wonders for the soul.
Cannot get enough of that necklace, those girls are 11/10. You are shining in your outfit, you really know how to do an outfit, impressed 11/10.
Limes are the best aren't they, they just really spruce it up. I love a key lime pie - they are the best.
Cover your ears but yes there will be a time of one sleep and then none and then when they grow way to big, they stay up later than their parents !!!!!! I know the reality has been shocking for me here. Thankfully it happens in stages but its a shock nonetheless.
I have actioned your Chicken / lemon / butter altogether for tonight, it's a once a week here now and still gets three claps from the man and mini men.
Have a great night,
B. x
I never sleep- NO ONE stays up later than me!x
DeleteThat is a lot of limes you have there... they are currently ranging from $1-$2 a pop down here, I am envious.
ReplyDeleteI know they aren't cheap here ether, Willow went ALL OUT!
DeleteI can't speak for your Baby, of course, but mine stopped naps altogether at age 2. This caused a major disruption at the Orphanage, as all the children were intended to nap after lunch, so the teachers could have their lunch. That child always did have a mind of her own.
ReplyDelete---Jill Ann
at the orphanage he only has 1 sleep during the day but when he is with me it is 2 sleeps!
DeleteMy little boy does the same so far, but his big sister was and is still not a sleeper so I hang out for the days she is at daycare so i can action stuff ha! Garden looks lovely. Can I also say that I looked at the cavalli target stuff and it was, in my opinion, yucky, or more politely, not my style xx
ReplyDeleteSome of it was nice, the swimsuit I got is excellent quality for $59 but some of the dresses I tried on didn't suit me.
DeleteFF, your garden looks so lovely. I can barely keep herbs alive, so I still have a lot to learn. The cocktail party looked really fun. I nearly popped into JB this afternoon, but decided it was too dangerous. Looking forward to seeing your shoes xxx
ReplyDeleteFifi pop in! So many fab things! I will email you x
DeleteThanks for sharing, Yes...Lovely Things indeed!
ReplyDeletethe photos of the flowers are so charming, so Artistic...I think that Mother Nature is the BEST Artist ever!
...Your Style is also Meraviglioso...Gold is the colour weared by Queens and Gold does suits You very well as You're a Queen of Beauty & Style inded! Molti complimenti, Cheers!
Ciao,Best
My kiddos had no daytime sleeps after age 2. I found that they would be up all night if they had sleeps during the day. It suited our nanny to have them asleep for half the day, but not me- I paid for it at night with them up until 11 or 12! Some kids just don't need as much sleep as others. I used to get really cross when I would get home from work to sleeping kids when they should have been having baths and dinner and getting ready for bed. It can be hard to get the right balance.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that some kids who sleep during the day don't sleep well at night,
Deletebut my kid follows the Sleep Begets Sleep theory!
Because I never sleep God sent me the world's best sleeping baby!
You can grew gardenias? They are my favourite flowers, I'd be sleeping under them if I could grow them here.
ReplyDeleteI picked up a fab dress on Saturday whilst mooching round the shops and hubs said, yes it's lovely but it's not you, it's Faux Fuchsia - he's learning! I love that white dress you're wearing above.
I luff gardenias and I can grow them but I wouldn't say they flourish.
DeleteWhat sort of dress was it?
The white dress is my Christmas day dress from last year.
True to the title some very lovely things in the post. How come you always score good finds at Target, I go in there and feel a bit depressed. Maybe its my local store, it hasn't changed in about 15 years everything is just thrown in there. Maybe I need to rummage harder.
ReplyDeleteI think it's the store- I go to the huge one in the middle of the city and I go often. Rummaging is Key!
DeleteThat jacket is ace with your dress, lucky! Don't be scared about one sleep, I prefer it. Both mine are one a day now and even though the total time is less its good to get out morning and arvo and have a block at home in the middle. Jx
ReplyDeleteI luff the jacket!
DeleteI have found from experience with mine and girlfriends babies that if they were always great day sleepers they continue. My friends 3.5 year old still has a 2 hour nap but he was always a good napper where as mine has just turned 2 and am lucky to get 1x1hr a day out of him but he has fought nap time since he was a tiny baby. Out of curiosity FF did you follow any particular baby routine/book/method etc? Your baby seems to be very contented and just wondering what your secret is!
ReplyDeleteI followed loosely Tizzy Hall's Save our Sleep routines.
DeleteI didn't stick too closely because I had to go out a lot with the Baby but he is just one of those super content good sleeper types.
I don't follow Tizzy now because she would say he should be sleeping an hour during the day whereas today he slept 10 to 11.45 and 2.30 to 4.30.
I am also very calm with him and always have been because I had a theory that if I was stressed or anxious he would be. Maybe that helps?
I think it's the luck of the draw!
Totally agree with babies being able to pick up on moods, happy calm mum = happy calm baby. We just sold our block of land next door to where Tizzy is building her house! I could have popped in for some free advice...
DeleteTizzy says it is ok for a baby to cry for hours . I do not like that
DeleteI must have skipped that chapter because I've never let my baby cry for hours. He was one of those babies who laughed when you put him in a cot, not cried.
DeleteThat's the thing about parenting. It's never one size fits all and you have to do what suits. I loved her routines because I had no idea how often to feed a baby or when to start solids and she gave great advice. As evidenced by my thriving healthy happy son.
Hello! Anon here from Adelaide. Our boys are the same age and up to the same tricks. Mine sleeps 4 hrs per day too and it's bliss for me. I think being a Pisces helps as he's very content and chilled. Looking fwd to seeing your shoes!
ReplyDeleteYou should nab that little jacket for yourself, FF! Love your top and necklace. I have ordered a slow cooker and am awaiting its arrival with great anticipation. Who says my life isn't exciting and fulfilled??
ReplyDeleteHurrah for naps! G is in the process of dropping one so she is down to one a day. Fingers crossed she sticks to that for a while. I get so much done when she naps!
ReplyDeleteLoving the Limes and the Loubies!
K xx
A four hour day sleep is the best, my baby is a great little sleeper too, it's when they get older and drop the day sleep altogether that the fun begins! Have a great week FF x
ReplyDeleteToddler C only takes one day nap now...as soon as he turned one he dropped his afternoon nap...he was never a very good sleeper though.
ReplyDeleteHe usually sleeps from about 11:00 until 1:00...and on a good day he sleeps until 2:00.
We should plan a get together before the end of the year!
I was thinking of putting a little note at The Orphange to see if any of the parents would be up for a little pre Christmas get together.
Oh, I miss the sleeps. It's when I used to be able to work (because somewhere along the line I thought I could be a work-from-home-mum). Now the twinadoes (just-turned-three) refuse all daytime sleeps. I know. It's true. They are too old to need to sleep in the daylight hours. Thankfully I am not a big sleeper.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently awaiting my first Gardenia, but all I'm getting is agapanthus after agapanthus.
My 4.5 year old still naps, but he is usually up at the crack of dawn. My 1 year old is a terrible napper but can sleep 12 hours straight. I'm in 2 minds as to which I prefer. Not that it matters because it's not as if the 2 of them will magically do what I prefer HA HA
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing which CL goodie you came away with!!!
xx
BB
Both my babies are just like you when it comes to sleep - don't seem to need much of it. I on the other hand am clearly a giant, female version of baby FF in the sleep department - 4 hours of day sleep sounds fantastic to me!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for you to unveil what's in The Box.
ReplyDeleteBubby dropped to one 2-hour day sleep soon after he turned 1. It's probably one of the reasons why I don't get much done on the weekend.
FF,
ReplyDeleteMy kids are both away at college, but when then come home, they stay up all night and want to sleep all day. I'm compelled to keep quite for them.
Treasure these days FF (already know you do). They pass by so fast. I have a picture on my desk of my two when they were two and three years old. My daughter's older by 12 months and 11 days. She was taller until they were teens. Now my son towers over her and continues to grow!
The garden is really perking up, love the first Gardenia of the season. I re-potted all the marigolds from the wedding into window box planters and they are flowering again. Makes me think of the wedding all the time!
ReplyDeleteHooray for Yellow, I am a Fan too. The Lemon Leo really does work a treat with that outfit - glad we were able to workshop something!!
God knows what I'll do if I have kids, I am so used to lots of sleep and I am a deep, heavy sleeper. I'll just have to enjoy it while I can, off to bed now in fact. L xx
Love your posts and that yellow beads!
ReplyDeleteWhat alovely gardenia!! I can almost smell it!! We had a vegetable frittata tonight. Myer has just opened here in Townsville .(my cousin in Melbourne said what's next, radio?) I have discovered a huge area with OPI polish and thought of you.
ReplyDeleteOh no, here's hoping Baby FF continues to nap! My younger daughter took an afternoon nap that lasted between 1 1/2 to 3 hours every day until she started school. I'm pretty sure that's the reason I still somewhat sane.
ReplyDeleteMy lad was a great sleeper, too. When he reaches 16 and throws up in my front garden or the bathtub after a night out or prangs my car, I made a promise that I'd forgive him as he was SUCH a magnificent sleeper. He had an afternoon sleep almost until he started school and slept through the night from 7 weeks. Enjoy your laddie's good sleep habits!
ReplyDeleteThe lime situation is ridiculous and I demand a Royal Commission into lime price-fixing! Cocktail-making is currently prohibitively expensive, as a result, and I've had to resort to scoffing Bollinger that a dear friend insists on buying me. Best enjoy it while it lasts!!!
Must hotfoot into Tar-zhay to check out Mr Cavalli's pret-a-porter collection. ;-P Your new shoes are HAWWWT! xx
my first three kids were great sleepers, my youngest son still is (loves his kip, drives his girlfriend mad) but the last one, no! She went to bed okay, but every night woke up at 3am and 5am. Only slept through when she went to school at 3 years old. Good job she was last or would have been only child. The grandson Theo is the same now, only ever slept through once since birth nearly two years ago. Mind you his mother, my daughter is always stressed (she is a single mum now) so he does pick up on it.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with lime-tax - just as the weather begins to warm on it goes... Reassuringly - tomato tax seems to have lifted around here.
ReplyDeleteI do love a good shoe box.
Baby sleeps are the best!
All this about sleep is making me v. sleepy..pity I just got up
ReplyDeleteI stand in awe FF. Actioning gourmet meals, house beautiful, darling baby(1 or2 sleeps daily),
ReplyDeletegarden of peace! Hope Mr. FF thanks his lucky stars everyday.
NJSarah
Nobody panic. Baby may sleep less but he will sleep for longer! Instead of 2 x 2 hours, he will join them up and sleep for 1 x 3! You will luff it cos he willbe so much more portable! Kt
ReplyDeleteMy little boy (over 3) started being a little unsettled for daytime sleep so now I put on ABC talk back radio just outside his bedroom. It works a treat and he sleeps for a couple of hours!! I am not ready to give up the day time nap quite yet.....
ReplyDeleteI bought a pair of the flat gold sandals from Cavallii at target, I thought they were great for $59. Love the garden photos.
The Target top is 11/10! Hope they get in the states. They're selling parkas and hats and gloves now and they're needed. It's cold here! My children hung on to the afternoon nap until well into their threes. Usually 2 hours in length. Free time becomes scarce as they get older. I shamelessly encouraged video watching in the afternoon when nap time disappeared. Always something soothing, though.
ReplyDeleteMy little tackers slept 2 sleeps per day right up until kindy. It's all in the training. You might get another year out of him! Love the top! A-M xx
