Today.

Wore some camouflage Moschino to The Coalface today.
Thank God for white iceberg roses. They flourish in what can only be described as Adverse Conditions. Which accurately sums up my Gardening Situation.

I feel quite nostalgic and emotional when I look at the Baby's kindy art. When he first started at the Orphange he couldn't even sit up let alone talk or walk. I used to carry him into the building.
Now he holds my hand and walks.

Meanwhile this tassle-tastic necklace goes with Everything. Everything I tell you!

I think I might start wearing this Hermes scarf as a top on a regular basis.
 Vegetarians Look at This!
Tonight I actioned a Thai green vegetable curry in a jiffy from cupboard  and freezer ingredients. I don't know about the rest of you, but I go in hard with the lime juice the coriander and the kaffir lime leaves. I'm not going to lie-It was Delicious. Delicious I tell you!
And in exciting news today I discovered that Guerlain  makes a fragrance that has a Bee emblem!!! How could I not have known this? Tres Exciting. It smells like honey and summer.
In 4 months time, this little boy will be 2. I know.
I cannot believe it either.
Meanwhile I have 9 yes 9 social engagements scheduled for the next 7 days. I know. I'm scared too.
The baby sitting arrangements have been planned with a Military-like Precision that Monty himself would be impressed by. And Rommel would be deadset jealous of.
Do the rest of you luff Who Do You Think You Are as much as I do?
Cheerio.

  1. Yes I love Who Do You Think You Are, its so riveting and people really "feel" their ancestors, great stuff.
The baby, well no he's not really a baby now, 2 in 4 months? Wow. But anyway his art is fab and I love how you'll keep all of that. I have just two pics of me as a baby, mum binned them all, or maybe she stole me, shh....

    2. Dear FF
Husband can relate to that. He grew up believing his father's mother was Polish. She arrived in Brisbane in 1878 on a sailing ship, a small child with her parents. Their name sounded Polish. Husband always went to see Polish movies, read Polish Novels (in English) followed news there, as part of feeling in touch with his roots (his other roots were Scottish). Then some unkind distant relative who was doing the family tree informed him they weren't Polish but Prussian. Quite a shock! Apparently during WWI in Bris it was much better to be thought Polish rather than German! Don't think he's ever quite recovered! Best wishes, Pamela

  2. FF,
Love this Coalface outfit. As I've told you before, The Good Wife just isn't wearing this kind of stuff to work. Good for you!

Looking forward to the outfits you put together for your 9 social engagements. Your life is a whirlwind.

  4. I'd love to have the good wife's composure at work, and your clothes! The baby is growing much. I don't have children, but am always amazed at how much they grow between 1 and 2. They are like real little people.

  5. Looks like Baby FF inherited his mother's love of color....what a cutie he is!

Have fun, you social butterfly - or social BEE, rather.

Love the lady-like camo. You wear it well!

  6. I love 'Who do you think you are' JK Rowling was great - not sure if you've had this one yet and don't want to spoil it but it was very interesting...I sometimes find them sad at the same time though.

Loving your outfit! Guerlain do some lovely things but are the tiniest consignment in the department store by me, strange as they do some great things.

CAN'T believe Master FF is almost 2 - it's scary where the time goes!

  8. Ah the silly season, so exhausting! How gorgeous is Baby FF? - getting so big and such artistic talent too! I love that he always has lots of colour, just like his Mum. I'm very impressed with the way you put your wardrobe together, they must love to see what you'll be wearing each day at the coalface. I hope this rush of posts won't mean you'll stop posting once the blog anniversary has been reached.

  9. I love the good wife, wish I had her wardrobe... And the ability to hold such a demanding job...
How do you manage stuff like 9 social engagements in one week? Do you have big plans for the birthday boy bash?

  10. Love that Moschino. Baby FF is as prolific as his mother. Nearly 2! Will we have to start calling him Toddler FF?

  15. I find it a bit weird that some of them cry about their ancestors on who do you think... Family they knew and loved yes, but many generations back???
Baby is almost 2???? whoa where has the time gone??

    1. I don't think it's at all weird to feel deep empathy for our ancestors - the hardships they endured contributed to where we are in life today. I feel intrinsically linked to the family I never knew and have been know to get emotional at the recounting of their stories.

  16. I felt tired just reading 9 social do's in 7 days! I have just three over the weekend with two requiring a babysitter.... and that will do me in! Though I suspect you have super-human energy.

Have you worn your Liberty shorts yet? I am thinking of making a pair for myself but have never worn floral shorts before. What have you paired them with?

  17. we pretty much cook out of freezer or fridge every night at our place, we go to the market/farmers market about once a fortnight and only go down to the shop for bread or soda water (no one drinks milk although i do like cauliflower gratin so it sometimes makes an appearance)

i like to make bulk curry paste and freeze it for mid week use

    I love Moschino

  18. Love your coalface frock. You are making me think that maybe I don't need entirely separate work and play wardrobes... and maybe black and grey suits aren't the only option available to me on Monday mornings!

Went to the beautiful Guerlain flagship store when I was in Paris. I didn't realise how many fragrances they have - two floors of perfumes! Love!!!

  19. Oh and the little fellow's art work is superior. I love the little montage you've put together. My boy is about a month younger than yours. It's such a delicious age isn't it.

  20. Dammit - missed "who do you think you are" forgot it was on. Love the Art. He'll go through a black phase at some point - all little boys seem to do it. Although maybe being your child he'll go against the grain and stay colourful. Love the work camo and scarf as top. xx

  21. My absolute favourite show...I am always amazed at the record keeping and the emotions that people feel when they find out things about a relative...even if it was a time far removed from the present.
Baby FF certainly has grown, but I think boys seem to change from baby to little boys in appearance quicker than girls. He is so cute!and I loved that picture of him with his friend that you posted...
    thank you.

  22. Dear FF,
Actioning standard iceberg roses here like nobody's business.
Luff the artwork, it's very 2012. With four mini men I've seen a lot of artwork so I consider myself I good critic and I give it a 11/10.
I think the secret to life is organisation. In my previous life as Florence Nightingale I learnt to be very organised and as you know I'm an avid list writer so that helps. Loving your skills to champion the social season head on.
I prefer your coal face attire to the good wife - she's far too prickly and her personality is not shining.
    Have a great day,
    B. x

  26. If there were an award for best dressed in Coalface you'd be bound to win. That outfit is gorgeous. Do you really travel on public transport looking that good? You're fellow commuters must love you to bits.

As for your social calendar you are a complete legend. I can hardly keep up with all these coffee morning catch ups and playdates that have come along with motherhood never mind putting on the slap and getting myself out in the evening.

  27. Love "Who Do You Think You Are?", a lot.

That little boy gets cuter and cuter (and taller)! Where did the time go?

  28. Hi FF
Of all the beautiful scarves that you own, the elephant one is my favourite. So much colour and so vibrant. I used to always favour neutrals but am slowly being turned to colour by your influence. I also love 'Who do you think you are' sometimes find myself getting emotional too just watching it. Have fun at all your Christmas parties xx Christine in Perth

  30. Re: your work outfit from your last post! I am a teacher and sadly wearing fancy work attire while doing playground duty on the oval in 31 degree heat, is not very practical (wedges are a must for oval duty days). I do always try to accessorise though and the 11 year old girls that I teach love it when my toe nail polish matches my shoes!
