Fexican Fiesta.

The Fexican Fiesta was 11/10. I made a double batch of triple choc brownies for dessert and there is not one, that's right, not one left!

I wore what can only be described as a lime green lycra one shouldered Grecian arrangement bought on the cheap for $30 from one of those Young People's shoppes. Lotus found the perfect necklace for it. It is my new absolute favourite and I'm wearing it again today. You can buy it here
People dressed the Hell Up. As per my request (Order)

Here's Old Lotus actioning the Time Honoured Lying Under the Tree Move.

It was a fabulous night and can I just say that I really love my friends. They even helped me clean everything up! Don't forget to enter our Giveaway by leaving a comment. The blog turns 3 on 5 December and I think I have 2 posts left to reach 1000. Goody.
It's going to be 39 to 40 degrees today and a billion percent humidity.
So not conducive to Glamour.
Happy Tuesday. Exciting about Kate and Wills having a baby isn't it? Nothing better than a Baby.

  2. Cannot believe you baked brownies and produced such an outstanding feast in this heat - you are a special friend! I am wilting and the humidity is causing frizzy hair and frayed nerves!

  3. I wish I could pull off a one shouldered arrangement like you, but it never looks right on me! Looks like a fab evening. My husband found me lying under my tree the other night , he thought I'd gone mad!

    1. Hi D

It was a sort of made up lime coconut cheesecake thing. I did a biscuit base and mixed a sort of cheesecake mixture with coconut cream eggs sugar and lime juice and baked it and topped it with sour cream and berries. It didn't wotk out perfectly- it was a bit flat because I didn't make enough filling but it tasted nice x

  8. That looks like a really lovely Christmas party!
Love how all the girls are getting comfy under the tree.
Great to hear about a royal baby at Christmas – Queen will be pleased. Wonder if she'll mention it in Chrissy speech?

  10. I'm in a panic about the weather. A long trip to the shopping centre is in order I.think. Your young person's outfit looks a million bucks and you are.so slim FF! Willows drapey arrangement is 11/10 too!

  11. Ever since reading your blog, I'm so used to seeing faces hidden. Some of the above pictures made me giggle a little when I saw exposed faces :)

Looks like a fantastically colourful festive night was has by all last night at your Mexican Fiesta. Love your Grecian style outfit. It makes me think of something our Jackie would wear while with Ari!

  14. With so much entertaining FF, I'd love to know if you ever experience hang overs?

    1. No, I've had only 1 this year after my 40th. Everyone was driving and we all had a drink but not enough for a hangover.

Would not be sensible to drink excessively on a school night and while in charge of a small child!

  15. Dear FF,
What's not to love about a dinner party with such style. Those gf know how to action glamour. The food looks fantastic and those biscuits sound the best.
I think those girls have a necklace for every event. Their talent knows no end.

Thumbs down to the heat, it's very un impressive and takes all our energy.

  17. Happy 3rd Birthday to the blog. I remember the very first time I left a comment one night while in a Tokyo hotel room. Took me ages to summon the courage to do it as I was still very new to the whole blogging caper. That was May 2012.
Well look how far we've all come in this remarkable hell of a ride on the Faux Fuchsia train!
To be honest I can't quite imagine life without this pink page, it's been a Hoot.

  25. You and your girlfriends look so glam, love Willow's dress, is it her own design? Fexican food is so tasty, and your friends are definitely the best to help you clean up. Could eat that plate of brownies by myself. So happy for Wills and Kate xx

  27. We were channelling QLD weather down here over the weekend when we had a spate in the mid 30's.....today it's back to 11 degrees.....I'm wearing a jacket and boots yet would be rather wearing skimpy sparkles. Good luck with your hair! Rx

  30. I absolutely adore that lime green frock...it is 11/10 and Lotus found the perfect necklace for it. Well done!!! You can find some top stuff in these shops sometimes.
Triple choc brownies!!! YUM! no wonder there were none left!!!

  31. Excellent effort from all of those trim looking girls to deal with the brownie tower! I can't stop thinking about The Royal Baby and how utterly thrilled Diana would have been. I love baby news. But when I was struggling to have my own I loathed it and pretended to be happy. Jx

  34. Thanks for hosting such a fun night, the Fexican food was amazing particularly your pineapple salsa - so inspired!! Congratulations on three stellar years of blogging I have enjoyed every minute of it. L xx

  35. Absolutely LOVE that dress - you look fab. I wish I could successfully action outfits from a young person's shoppe. I occasionally give it a go but always end up looking, at worst, like an ageing harlot and at best highly flammable. Perhaps the key is pairing such purchases with a killer set of RPE beads?

  36. Loving 'Young People's Shoppes' - I know the exact ones you mean!

You are all so glamourous as is the food and surroundings.

  37. What a wonderful event - thank you for sharing. Love all the colour! I recently did my own Feican dsh a slow cooked pork shoulder which we then shredded and ate with my own homemade corn tortillas. Once up make your own tortillas you can never eat the long life soft stuff again - there is NO substitut. I highly recommend buying some masa.

  38. Loving your dress! (wish I could pull something like that off - so tropical & so Brisvegas - if I wore that out down here people would think I was from Mars!!!).
Also loving the colour & bright patterns worn by your friends. Even your house is colourful! More often than not it is cold & dreary down here, requiring layering & seems the whole city is wearing a uniform of black. Boring!!!
Anyway, so glad I stumbled accross your blog ... as besides the fashion, love seeing snippets of my old home town :)

  39. Gorgeous!

Am I the only one who is a bit concerned about Kate's pregnancy? Announcing at such an early stage. I guess now they reached the 100% pressure zone. Hope everything goes well and very looking forward to seeing them leaving the hospital 6 or 7 months from today with their baby.

Ah, a new heir to come. It feels great to grow older: I remember when Diana had her boys and now her boy will have children. Good times!

  42. I have been following you for a while. Took me AGES to go right back to the first post but I have now read them all. Congratulations on your success. I'm now wearing nail polish daily and own 2 gorgeous RPE necklaces. Not cheap for me but I'm hoping that on a cost per wear they'll be a bargain. I get lots of comments. I Love your Positive Outlook 11/10. Thank you

  44. Hope it's not too late to leave a comment. I've been in Florida for the week (will stay one more week.) The beach has been fun, but what would I give to be in Australia?!? Spent three months in Brisbane in 1996. My baby was one then- now she is 17. Would love for her to see the Gold Coast, Great Barrier Reef, Alice Springs, Sydney, Mataranka Springs, and so much more again and actually remember being there!
