Life Snippet from Late December.

So last night I threw on my Glad Rags and Hot footed it to Bucco to meet my Girlfriends for Dinner.
When I got there they were drinking these with what can only be described as Enthusiastic Abandon:
I always order exactly the same thing in restaurants. Based on the When You're on a Good Thing Stick  to it Theory. As extensively researched by the world famous Scientists at the Faux Fuchsia Institute for Scientific Research.
Behold the Magnificence of this Sand crab linguine:
It was 11/10 People.
as were these limoncello lemon sorbet cocktails. Refreshing in this heat.
Today began badly when the car wouldn't start. I know. I was sad too. And can I just say I luff RACQ with all my heart? They got there so fast and now I have a new battery. The old one lasted 6 years. Which is apparently very good.
After all that I met up with old Amber and M.
I love them. Remember they organised my beautiful Baby Shower back in the Day? It was all so gorgeous. Here are some Visuals in case you missed it:

Luff Old Amber's house.

Packed today. Am worst packer. Want to take Everything.
Offended by Prawnography? Best Look Away Now then.
Behave.

  2. Off to the beach? Lucky, lucky you. Like you, I am a terrible packer, it takes me longer to pack than the time on holiday (or that is how it feels).
    Happy holidays and happy times.

  3. That's super freaky - battery went in my car today too - and RACQ guy said it was 6 years old.

  4. Enjoy yourself! I never pack - Mr Sulky does it all as I cannot be trusted not to stuff the kitchen sink in my suitcase.

  6. It makes me so happy that you are wearing those gold sandals. If I can't have them myself seeing others wearing them is the next best thing.

If you lived closer, I would beg to come over for an FF makeover.

  9. I am a terrible packer too. I usually take at least 6 pairs of shoes with me even for short trips. I can never decide so I just take everything I can fit in the suitcase. Have fun at the beach!

  10. Hmm crab and pasta with a lemon cocktail sounds so delicious.
Your choice of attire is a nice combination ~ and I think I am seeing double clutches!
Father used to have an antique car that had to be double clutched to change gears!

We have a BCAA membership for car emergencies and I would never be without it.
Can you imagine trying to change a tire in your luxe clothes and freshly polished nails?

  11. Happy Holidays! Options are essential, even at the beach. Stay well hydrated - champagne is good I believe x

  12. I'm a terrible packer too, I take everything including the kitchen sink and then wear the same dress every day. Ha!

  13. Dear Ms FF, God Bless all the RACQ and NRMA men and women! We have the NRMA in the South and I love them 11/10 too - so capable and so kind. I loved the Prawnography! I will have to show Mr LiC (that sounds a little wrong, doesn't it?). I am taking my girls and my nieces to Yum Cha today - can you believe that they have never been? I was shocked too. Packing is hard - however, if the trip is by car, go mad! Have a lovely break - I hope the weather is perfect. love Lindaxxx

  14. Packing is the pits.
I also order the same meals in restaurants - much more efficient.
Our beach holiday is already over sadly but have Noosa to look forward to in late Jan. Haven't stayed there before.
    Have a lovely relaxing break.

  16. Great post!
Love crab pasta- all the better when all the de-shelling is already done for you - win! If you could post Amber's address, I'll be right over to steal that lamp! And love the crystal display, so relaxed. Just beautiful. Her home (from the pics) looks like a muted version of yours- are your styles similar?
Packing, I can do. In fact I pack better than my husband (who is not trusted & would bring everything we own!) I travel for work fairly frequently- packing skills & frequent flyer miles are the (few) upsides!
Also looking forward to the holiday snaps! HNY!

    1. I spose Amber and I have similar taste in homes, which I am flattered by as she has a great eye. We love vintage things and colour and antiques and she loves art.

I had to get 40 extra coat hangers my my clothes sent to the room.

    1. they are from Jean Brown but they sold out in about 20 seconds flat. I leapt up from my seat after a fashion parade to make sure I got a pair. Seriously, I could tell they would sell fast.

  21. Hi FF

Loving your festive season posts, was wondering if I can please ask your advice?

What should you do if your best friend forgets your birthday? Is it something to worry about or just move on from quickly and not mention?

I do not have facebook or any other 'reminder' devices for people to remember and generally dont make a big fuss as it's smack bang in the festive season and always gets lost.

I am feeling a bit hurt though. Is this overly huffy/sooky?

    Love your perspective on Stuff.

    1. I don't think this has happened but if if did I would move forward- I am sure I've forgotten birthdays too at some stage. We are all so busy with work and babies that it is a bit tricky. But if your friend is a serial ignorer, well that is different.

It depends on the circumstances. If you are good friends and she is a stalwart I'd overlook it.

      No one is perfect. x

  22. Prawnography!!!!!!!!! Hilarious! And tasty.

I have just returned from my little holiday where, for the first time ever in my life, I packed really well! After numerous disasters it seems I have finally uncovered the secrets to packing. Will be blogging about this sooner or later.

  23. Playing catch up, technology has been failing me. Do you (or anyone else for that matter) loathe the endless upgrades you have to run on mac's??? Its taken me hours just to be able to get back up and running.

I'm the worlds worst packer, and I'm a procrastinating packer always the last minute for me. Enjoy your trip to the beach bet the weather is awesome up there.

Ps is that sparkletastic top really from Temt?? And is the navy one from there too???

  24. Love the beach - came back from there a week ago. I over-packed to the point of being ridiculous. Channelled cocktail-drinking, also: downed 3 Cato's pina coladas in a v. short time without batting an eyelid and felt no guilt whatsoever. Go forth and cocktail, my love!

And so sorry, FF, I am NOT going to behave tomorrow night. I have Bolly, Billecart and brownies - the 3 beautiful Bs and I plan to MISBEHAVE most foully! And sing at SingStar and dance to 'Moves like Jagger' on Wii. I also have black sequins to wear. After the four months I've, I feel I deserve it!

A very happy new year to you and yours - may your fabulousness continue into a wonderful, happy and healthy 2013! xx

  28. FF, just had to share. Based on all the positive experiences you've had here, I ordered 3 dresses from The Outnet. And they turned up today! So exciting. Got a DvF and a Vivienne Westwood. Sending back the third. It's a little too tight. Mr Sans says to lose a little weight. I say, no dress goes back.

But, anyway, I am so excited. The first two dresses are gorgeous. I love them. And they came so quickly. I will wear the sparkly one tonight for NYE.

Oh, why is buying new clothes so much fun. And why did I set a resolution to not buy any for 2013?
