It's the Blog's 3rd Birthday. So I wheeled out my new favourite necklace and this Kate Spade Frock for the occasion.
This is also my 1000th Blog post. Say what you will about Me, I'm Prolific. And perfectly capable of posting over 100 posts in a 3 week period. Time Management being one of my Strengths and All.
Had lunch with my gorgeous friends.
Here are some Miscellaneous Snippy Snaps that Scream Faux Fuchsia:
I asked the Blog if it wanted to join us for dinner but it said No.
Apparently Mrs Danvers has organised a high end fancy pants Party for the Blog and invited everyone on the side bar.
The Blog's borrowed Karl's gold party jacket and told me not to wait up.
As I type it's tripping the light fantastic and dancing on top of a bar.
Old Mr FF and I became very emotional this morning when we read the Baby's end of year report from the Orphange. (I know- who knew they provided these?) It was so so beautiful and we are just ridiculously, crazily proud of him.
That kid really is Perfection.
I'm going to announce our Prize Winners tomorrow. Because it's my Blog and I make the rules. It's not too late to enter, just leave a comment here.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, The real action on this blog always happens in the comment section.
When I've been miserable or lonely or bored, these comments have really cheered me up and sometimes, they've even kind of sustained me.
Thank you for your encouragement, and for amusing me and making me laugh.
And on a Serious Note, you should never ever knowingly under accessorise, under cushion or wander about the traps in chipped polish.

FF, I've said it before: you rock my world. If you ever stop blogging, I will be very mad indeed. Happy 1000 xx
ReplyDeletethank you.
DeleteI was going to stop. Maybe I still will x
no, sorry, you can't stop. we will gang up.
DeleteI read your blog everyday, and recently more than once a day, but rarely comment (as I always say each time I comment.)
ReplyDeleteSo many congratulations on your blog's 3 year birthday. I'm glad we cheer you up, because you cheer me up endlessly. Your enthusiasm is infectious.
Love all this mutual cyber cheer- thank you for commenting- always love the comments.x
DeleteHip hip hooray...congrats on your third! Sounds like a fab party on your sidebar yet what do you think Karl's getting up to with the butter?! Should you be worried?! Rx
ReplyDeleteKarl's asked the Butter to replace Brad Pitt as the face of Chanel no 5.
DeleteStop! You are making me lose bits of dinner everywhere laughing do hard! L xx
DeleteMrs Danvers just texted me.
DeleteThe blog's doing tequila shots with Barbie and has spilt red wine all over Karl's part jacket.
Martha's confident she can get the stain out tomorrow.
Thank God.
What does Jackie think about all this palava??
DeleteJackie's loving it. She's outside smoking with the scientists and letting them trying on all her jewellery x
DeleteSounds like a great party. Tell the blog that I love it sick and that when it gets over its hangover I'm am going to help it do some even more exciting things next year. L xx
Deletehilarious girls, hilarious!!!
DeleteThis made my day.
DeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeletethankyou x
DeleteAnd, let me tell you, dear FF, your blog has done the same to me, particularly in the last few months that have been the Dark Days of the Divorce Diet. You keep me giggling and wondering and being interested. Thank you and many kisses. :-)
ReplyDeleteDivorce is so painful. The only upside is the weight loss, finding out who your true friends are and knowing that you will eventually find someone who loves you properly. Good luck x
DeleteCongratulations FF! Keep it going!
ReplyDeleteCD xx
thankyou. I will try x
DeleteA thousand times thank-you for helping restore world piece one uncluttered section of the Manchester cupboard at a time.
ReplyDeleteHa! The world would be happier if people were more disciplined with decluttering their cupboards! Thank you for referring to me as a cult blog on the Snail x
DeleteCongratulations FF! Keep it going!
ReplyDeleteCD xx
PS when I saw that Barbie, I thought 'oh there's Faux!'
Barbie and Karl are doing shots with the Blog in a bar as I type x
DeleteHappy third birthday!
ReplyDeleteAnd happy 1000 posts!
I love the "report cards" from The Orphanage!
Daddy R and I just swelled with pride when we read Toddler C's...who knew our little baby would grow into just a perfect little boy!
Old Mr FF and I cried when we read it. Who knew it would make us so emotional?
DeleteWe are very very lucky to have got out kids a place there.
You hear so many horror stories.
Am always emotional about my son but this has really sent me over the edge.
Hi ff - first time comenting -your blog has sustained, entertained and inspired me -always smile and aspire to be more. Love the colourful funny world you action here - dont stop please xxx
ReplyDeletethat is so sweet. It's weird to think what I type up as I watch the Real Housewives and docos on the History channel can be sustaining.. Thank you!!! x
DeleteCongratulations! I'll drink to that :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the first 1000 posts. All of them!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Third Birthday Faux Fuschia Blog - I have been reading now for two years and 11 months and what a joy it is to come here every day (even if I don't always comment) . Love your garden, your cooking, your joy of life and I greatly admire the love and loyalty you show to family and friends but most of all I love your wit.
ReplyDeleteIndia x
India that is so sweet.
DeleteI am still not over the fact that the Paddington Commonwealth Bank is now a frigging patisserie and that my secret carpark is no longer available. I know you will understand the pain and grief this causes me.
You are a true Stalwart.
I'd be nothing with my family and close friends. They do so much for me it's insane and I will always be grateful and never take them for granted. x
Hahaha! I love everything about this post. I remember getting my little gal P's end of.year portfolio last year too, also had no idea they did that sort of thing, such a lot of work! I am looking forward to this year's. They grow so damn quick! Sob.
ReplyDeleteGreat work ole FF xx
Really enjoy reading your blog - makes me forget for a minute about the daily grind! Your efforts are much appreciated. All the best for the next year. Jess :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations what a fabulous FF effort.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday dear Blog. Hope you have a fab time out there tripping the light fantastic! And congratulations FF on your 1,000th post! I love your blog - I credit you with inspiring lots of good things in my life... my clairsonic, superior cushioning on my sofa, going to work in a fancy frock instead of a grey suit (a very recent step for me), baking a ham even when it wasn't Christmas and making an effort to reapply my lipstick more regularly... just to name a few. So thank you for your cheering blog and I hope you are enjoying a few bubbles to celebrate the fab report card too.
ReplyDeleteTyping this with my now regularly painted paws; all thank to FF's shining example! I too despise chipped nail polish. This is the least of what I have learned from your world changing blog. Happy 3rd Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI was also heard to mutter 'Fingers and Toes' at work the other day. I ignored the unappreciative looks I got from the unknowing coworkers!!
Happy Blog Birthday FF!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary FF
ReplyDeleteBill Cunningham said,"We’re in the age of the cookie-cutter sameness. There are few that are rarities, someone who doesn’t look like ten million others."
Well that'd be you! Love your work. Here's to the next fabulous 3 years.
Best, BB from Melbourne.
X
Dear BB
DeleteThis is just the most lovely flattering comment- you know how much I admire Bill and the fact that he said "he who seeks beauty shall find it" and how he calls everyone child.
Thank you. I still love my apron SICK! x
What do you know but the blog and I share the same birthday. More's the pity I am a tad older than three! I read for a little bit of escapism. Congrats on the bloggy milestone. regards struth
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 1,000th post! I've read and loved every one of them.
ReplyDelete"Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday FF Blog.." I'm singing in a breathy voice a la Marilyn for JFK...but I'm wearing a little more (you'll be relieved to know).
ReplyDeleteWell done on your achievement and thank you for all the smiles, advice and downright fun! x
I was just in the midst of the world's biggest declutter when I realised I hadn't paid my phone bill and only had a few minutes to call up and sort it out before the call centre closed and I got a late fee, cue mass panic. Decluttering has made a right mess of my polish too. There's only one word for tonight: Fraught.
ReplyDeleteThis Soothing post could not have come at a better time! I particularly like the picture of your nice neat wardrobe. Ahhhhh.
Once again HAPPY BLOG BIRTHDAY! (Blirthday?) The big 0-3! xx
Congratulations FF on a fabulous achievement! Heppy Heppy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow legal eagle (Melbourne based) I must ask - have you always dressed so colourfully? I feel confined to dark colours, both when meeting with clients and when in court.
In saying that though, I do live on the edge with bright nail polish and a heavy resistance towards wearing collared shirts! x
Happy blogday FF! I'm glad to see you're getting lots of comment love - you deserve it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for making our world brighter, cheerier and more adequately accessorised.
From a Bris Vegas girl now living in the US congratulations on your 3rd blog birthday! Your blogs so cheer me up each and everytime I read them, and I love your snippets of Brisbane life. Deb
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 1,000th post! entertaining as always xxx
ReplyDeleteFF's blog, happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteFF, congratulations! Your blog never fails to cheer me up - thanks for sharing your awesomeness and keep up the good work :) And please do a post on time management. Please. X
I'm hearing you on the nail polish and surely in that statement about the cards there is missing the word "Credit".
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Dear FF Blog. Party like there's no tomorrow. You have made me laugh, cry and all things in between. You are a ray of sunshine in blogland.
ReplyDeleteI have been a follower for 2 years however have read every post right from the beginning. Congrats on a life well lived.
Paula
Happy Blogiversary! Although I must say that blog has a cheek hitting the tiles without you! Heres hoping Martha does come through on the red wine stain, but what I want to know is if they let the cow in the bar and was it wearing a jacket from one of the scientists at the FF institute???
ReplyDeleteReally do love your work, check your blog religiously and am deadset sad when you miss a day or two :(
Lots of luck getting the blog out of bed in the morning.....
xx MegluvX4
The scientists are doing shots with Anna Wintour and are the life and soul of the party. It's aways the quiet ones...
DeleteKarl got the cow in. No one messes with Karl. The cow's wearing a sequinned Philip Lim frock and Louboutins. It looks good.
x
Happy birthday to our favourite Brissie Blog! May you celebrate many, many more in Faux Fuchsia style of course.
ReplyDeleteHappy 3rd birthday FF blog! I love reading your blog and rarely miss a post. After sorting through all the spam mail I get on a daily basis I always click on your blogs email and read it through beginning to end. You are always entertainingly and your wit is so refreshing after a day at the coalface. Thanks for your daily inspiration FF!
ReplyDeleteI read this somewhere and I thought of you dear FF, "Thank you for your encouragement, and for amusing me, and making me laugh". Ha ha. Yes, you do all three for me and I never tire of your posts. Can't get enough of your blue and whites or that sweet little boy. What joy he has brought---so happy for your family. Oh, and congrats on The Birthday and so goal achieved re: posts. judy
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Thank you for adding some humour and all that glamour into my day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Birthday!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all of the fun, the glamour and the gritty determination that emanates from this glorious technicolour blog!
Excellent post FF. Your final paragraph gave me goosebumps. Such lovely, encouraging words! Happy bloggy birthday! C xo
ReplyDeleteWhile I confess to be a late joiner to the FF phenomenon, I now fully embrace it with both hands. BabyMac told me about your blog, forever thankful to her. Congrats xxxxx
ReplyDeletehappy birthday.
ReplyDeletei hope your blog bought you presents! if not, then i am happy to have words...
Axx
What did we do with all our time before the internet?! Its great to read your cheerful blog and the friendly and funny replies, I wish I were so witty!! Hope you're keeping out of the heat! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAwww, the end section made me very emotional now FF. So sweet about the baby's report card, and is that pregnant Barbie?? It all goes too fast. Love love your blog, happy days to it and you!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit emotional myself x
DeleteHi FF, I never tire of your posts they are hilarious. I must admit as soon as I heard the Duchess was expecting a baby I thought 'oh FF will love that news and I hope she will blog about it!! how sad of me! Congrats on your blog-a-versary and look forward to hearing many more years of hilarity
ReplyDeleteyou were right I LOVED the news!
DeleteCongrats FF, you rule, unchipped nail polish, no undercushioning, supreme Christmas tree, perfect baby and all, you have it all and yet you share your dilemmas/troubles freely and always make us laugh in the process! hurray for the blog and hurray for you!
ReplyDeletenothing in my life is perfect, well except the baby. He is perfect.
DeleteLike everyone my life is complicated and difficult. But I just distract myself by focussing on the good bits and doing stuff that I enjoy x
and that's the way to go - I try to learn the distract yourself with good bits part from you!
DeleteHi FF, Would love to hear your views on time management - how do you do it superwoman....work, gorgeous baby, perfect house, entertaining, cooking, et all. Love the blog.
ReplyDeleteI cut corners lie no one's business and I practically never sleep.
DeleteI never ever let things pile up and do stuff really fast.
Hope this helps x
I'm afraid I need my 8 hours sleep....and I do let things pile up unfortunately!
DeleteCongratulations on the 3 years - hope you continue to entertain us with all your lovely photos, especially of the jewellery!
Happy Birthday! Like everyone else, I love reading the blog. You seem so wise. I also find myself muttering FF sayings often.
ReplyDeleteIf I ever ever see you complaining about ANYTHING on your blog, I'll be there first thing with the scathiest comment I'm capable of (and that won't amount to much !)! Now own up, you have met with a Fairy and she has granted you your wish of a charmed life, hasn't she ? Even school reports are perfect ?.. Now I want to talk to your beautiful blog and wish him (masculine in French) a Happy Birthday and thank him very much for the readers he sends me. Big kisses to the blog and ... to you .. no, I'm too jealous !XXXXX
ReplyDeleteLife is so not charmed but am grateful for the good bits.
DeleteMy life is actually quite hard I just don't blog about those parts.
I complain VOCALLY in real life about all sorts of things!!! but would not mention them here ever
Blog says Merci and thank you xx
Dear FF, well, it's me. The Aussie gal in Qatar who follows your blog, starting from about a year ago. I know you had another lady from Qatar some time ago but I am not sure she checks for updates as often as I do;) I am a true stalwart, but in a (friendly, D-I-Y manicured) lurker kind of way.
ReplyDeleteMy sisters and I discuss your blog across the oceans and internet and we find much valuable advice. We are OPI enthusiasts, Martha lovers, glamour wannabes, and speak fluent FF. I love the way you speak about your son, Mr FF, and your girlfriends. Very soothing.
1000 truly entertaining posts over three years is admirable and enviable. So, congratulations on this milestone and best wishes.
Xoxo, Corinne
Dear Corrine
DeleteI luff this comment.
Luff it that the middle east is reading and that you speak fluent FF!
Easy to speak well of the people I luff esp the baby who is the best kid EVER! to walk the earth.
x
I'm only recently new to your blog, thanks to 3 of my dearest girlfriends who are avid fans. You are an inspiration to me daily and I get so much joy in reading your blogs. You inspire me to be a better person, so thank you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 3rd birthday, here is to at least 3 more.
FF,
ReplyDeleteI never doubted you would make the 1000th post, congrats dear friend in my head!
And why wouldn't your child be perfect - look who his parents are!
Best of everything to you always.
Wow, congratulations! It's not possible to read your blog and not smile. I always love all the colors, so foreign to us here in the North. And that Baby is the Chanel of babies for sure. I have saved all the orphanage, school reports and some bits of art; the emerging adults love this look into their pasts.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on "1000" FF - great effort over these past weeks too - we love each and every post!
ReplyDeleteAnd well done to the Baby too - they continue to bring such joy to their parents, albeit with a few "little moments" just sometimes.
C xo
P.S thought you might be interested - in an effort to ensure no chipped nail polish was displayed on my toes this evening for the school Christmas Carols, I whipped out my fave OPI St Petersburgundy for a quick touch up - of course my little darling requested the same for her toes since she was performing on stage!! Alas, in haste, I went against all of my normal rules and proceeded to paint her sandalled toes whilst standing on our newish carpet - guess what happened......
Three years is an amazing achievement. The daily glimpse into your world is inspiring, we all have the same 24 hours in a day and what you achieve with yours each day, wow. Thanks for sharing the delights of doing things you love, friends and family. Your ongoing enthusiasm is contagious and I would be one of many who would be sad if you decide to stop blogging, but understand that you need to look after yourself and family first if that's what you decide.
ReplyDeleteFF, you inspire me to be bright and sparkly, have Fun, Overschedule, and just generally stay in the Game. Thank you a thousand times.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Swissy
FF, you inspire me daily to be sparkly, have Fun, Overscedule and just generally be in The Game. Thanks a thousand...

ReplyDeletehow am i ever going to keep up with you????
xoxooxoxoxoxo
Many happy returns of the day!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on three years and 1000 posts! I love your use of color and accessories. Unfortunately for me, stethoscopes and statement necklaces don't mix well. I look forward to the next 1000 posts.
ReplyDeleteDearest FF,
ReplyDeleteSending you shiny blog birthday wishes all the way from Vancouver! You are a wonderfully stylish, inspiring and entertaining blogger, and an even better friend. I can feel your love and support all the way across the Pacific - you have made me smile during troubled times and in good ones.
I imagine that Karl is telling the cow to stay away from the cheese plate and the carbs, and making snarky comments from behind his fan.
Lots of love,
Buphee

Happy Birthday FF. Your blog brightens my life.
ReplyDeletehappy birthday dear FF. You are the highlight read of my day! You make me want to be a better hostess, homemaker, mom, friend!!!! happy 3rd birthday!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 3 years and 1000 blogs! I love reading the blog and watching your son grow. He is super as are his parents.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't as hard to teach an old dog new tricks as once thought. I'm way over the hill and all, but still have learned a lot of stuff about nails, hair, baking, decorating and time management from you. Thanks so much for making my retirement more fun than it would have been if I hadn't happened upon Faux Fuchsia one day.
Ione
Congratulations! You're a unique voice on the blogosphere, one I read just about every day. And gorgeous besides - both you and the Baby:). Long may ye wave!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, congrats, congrats! You make me smile with every post. xoxo

CW Sydney
Happy Third Birthday to you and the Blog!
ReplyDeleteI discovered you both just over two years ago and have been an avid follower and reader ever since (but a shamefully lazy commenter, I must admit). You two helped me to go back to carefully painted chip-free nails and to fall in love with pink all over again.
I'll drink to many more birthdays like this one.
Congrats on 1000 post (I never doubted that you could do it) Thanks for all the chuckles along the way.
ReplyDeleteHello FF,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 3rd Blog Birthday and 1000th post! I've been reading your blog for a while now but have never commented. Love catching up with your daily happenings, you always manage to make me smile - you live your life in colour and with love and that comes through in all your posts. Thank you for all you share with us, your readers! Looking forward to reading for many more years to come.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations FF! Love everything about your blog.
ReplyDeleteThree is the new five in blogging terms. Always fun to read your musings so hope you continue and get that big high-end brand sponsorship. Chanel, Hermes...And where were you last night? It was surprisingly a good movie. 7/10 xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, I'm so glad you blog.

Happy 3rd birthday! Boy time goes fast....I've been reading since the very start and you are the one blog I read religiously! Just adore your style, your upbeat attitude to dealing with hard times and it's been the GLAMOUR you inspire that has got me through the particularly hard times I've faced this year....I've learned the soothing qualities of painting nails, cooking, dressing up, and feel 100x better for it all. Thank you for inspiring me....you are truly amazing!
ReplyDeleteP.s. I have a marena y sol "arrangement" coming in the mail- thanks for your sizing tips!
Happy 3rd and 1000th post! It takes a lot of committment so well done and heres to the future of Faux Fuschia world blog. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations FF and Happy Birthday to the blog. I hope the blog enjoys some baked cheesecake for breakfast to help with the hangover.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your family are very proud of you for making such a difference in people's lives, it's a shame your beloved grandmother isn't here to read all these glowing comments. You have a gift with your blogging voice. Thankyou!

ReplyDeleteI love the comment about fluent FF, did you know you even have a language??? Too funny.
Dear FF,
ReplyDeleteHurrah and heartfelt congratulations on reaching such a milestone. I am thrilled to bits that you and the blog have decided to continue entertaining us for now.
Loving sick that blog is celebrating like no get out and I have no doubt that Consuela will be able to deal with the Karl's jacket in no time that's if Mrs Danvers allows her too.
Kate Bx
Happy Happy 3rd Birthday FF blog!
ReplyDeleteI love this blog, it's a place where one can come to and read about beautiful things, flowers, gardens, baking, style, fashion, family, friends, hairstyles, dining, nail polish, the beach, Jackie O. Princess Diana, Princess Mary, the list goes on...
Thank you FF for bringing this breath of pinkness or should I say breath of fuchsianess into our lives.
xxoo
Congrats on the anniversary, always enjoy reading the blog especially as we go into the grimness of a UK winter, luff reading about warmer climes. In other news, I hear that Nails Inc are heading your way.
ReplyDeleteMany Happy Returns!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading since May 2010 and found you shortly after returning from an Aussie holiday. I Love every post and the community you have created (the hilarous stalwart comments are the Best! I knew this post would pull in a big number!). You have Reignited my love of colour on nails and dresses, and generally making everything look so damn Nice! When I look at things in shoppes I think to myself "would this get FF approval?" before I purchase! I even sourced a professional oven cleaner on your recommendation. You have made my life better in so many ways!
During chemo, the blog Sustained me when I was at my lowest. At a time when I looked and felt truly awful I could dip into the blog and immediately be cheered! I read back, from day 1, twice during this period and kept thinking the archives would make a fantastic book - the sort you can just flip to any page and find something lovely.
Much love and Here's to the next 1000 posts!
Denise
Dear Denise,
DeleteThat is very special that the blog sustained you during chemo. I hope you are on the road to recovery.
Professional oven cleaning is the BEST!
That's funny that you wonder if I would approve of something before you buy it!
Congrats FF! I love looking at the pink page in the morning when I log on - or at night! Ms A often asks what you are up to (12 year old)
ReplyDeleteI have to confess - I have sinned - Christmas Tree not going up until today!
Lovin your new necklace by the way.
Toddler FF is just getting cuter by the minute!
x
Congrats on the blog's 3rd birthday! I read first thing every day at the Coalface and it always makes me laugh. I'm a long time reader and one of my favourite posts was when you talked about what you loved about your 30s. I'm 33 and agreed wholeheartedly. Long live a smile and good manners, they both go a long way!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday blog!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I am late to the party. No doubt the blog has collapsed somewhere, glitter and sequins strewn around, with the monster of all hangovers from a big night. Congratulations on reaching 3 years and 1000 posts. I'm sure the 4th year will be big - I'm predicting Chanel & Hermes will do some official sponsorship/ product placement. xx ps And well done to Baby FF who covered himself in glory with his report. May there be many more moments like that to come.
ReplyDeleteDear FF,
ReplyDeleteThe very best congratulations to you and the blog.
This is a great day indeed. 1,000 posts and 3 years are a great thing indeed.
If I looked through the looking glass I'm sure I would see Jackie on the lounge while Martha cooks up a storm in the kitchen. Anna is discussing this years accessories with hither twins and you FF are giving Karl directions to the Black and Spiro sale. The twins are discussing your weekend at the beach while Mr FF is proudly showing baby FF's artwork to the crowd of onlookers. All party gors comment on the high level of quality cushioning and friends from the coal face look over to see Mrs Danvers call the dinner bell. Vegetarians look away as the Ham is wheeled out. everyone comments on the OPI nail polish you are actioning and baby FF is out to bed after a day at the orphanage. The gathering is given an 11/10 and from the corner you hear three claps from me. Here here.
B. x
Wow, 3 years and 1000 posts! How very impressive - congrats!
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot the Danvers party! Luff 11/10 the faux fuchsia snippets a great 3 year round up but the orphanage boy is best if all xx
ReplyDeleteI meant 'of' - correct if you can
ReplyDeleteHappy 3rd birthday FF blog, It seems only yesterday that you turned 1, 2 now 3. Time flies when you are ever so fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOh oh is it too late to enter for those fab giveaways?
ReplyDeleteThanks for three years of escapism!

Oh my goodness, who would ever have imagined you miserable, lonely or bored? I luff that you keep your chin up at all times and set an example for women everywhere. Even if times are tough, a little nail polish, a new cushion and some baking goes a long way to restoring ones equilibrium. A shining light in a world of fake and boring blogs, long may you continue.
ReplyDeleteLots of love from the snowy UK xxxx
Oh I get as miserable as the next person. In 2010 My Grandma died, 2 weeks later my uncle died and then a few months after that my aunt died.
DeleteThese were very sad times for me. I still get sad about it all.
I don't blog about personal things but of course I have challenging times. There are people and things in my life that cause me enormous unhappiness and stress.
Lots of people think my blog is fake so thank you for saying otherwise.
It's lovely to read I set an example! xxxx
Congratulations on three years of the FF blog - looking forward to another three years reading about your world.
ReplyDeleteWAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOO! You made it! Never doubted you for a second.... But have had nightmarish doubts about you continuing.... 1000th post won't be the last will it?
ReplyDeleteWOW! 1000 posts and 3 years - CONGRATULATIONS FF! I'm now exhausted just commenting every day for the last few days so take my hat off to you for such a massive effort. I'm more of the mouse stalwart that likes to quietly observe although have taken to using your word luff which seems to have spread through my inner circle :) I love this colourful, bright and deadset cheery blog - Thank you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the 3rd blogaversary!! Lovely FF I discovered your blog via vogue's decluttering thread and have been reading for almost the 3 years. I'm sorry I don't comment much - I really should give back via comments considering what you give to your readers. You inspire me with the way you just make things happen and your honesty. I have definitely embraced Christmas trees and festivities more since your blog, rediscovered my love for colourful accessories and developed an 'I want' for ginger jars! My husband says I overcushion (shock!) but there is definitely room for more. Much more. I've had two baby girls in those three years so it has also been so lovely to watch baby FFs development. Thank you for adding such colour to my day. Lilly xx
ReplyDeleteHappy 3rd Blog Anniversary FF. As a long time reader, first time commenter, i would love to congratulate you on such organisational skills in getting to 1000 posts on the blog's third birthday. May there be many 1000's of posts to come!
ReplyDeleteHappy 3rd Blog Anniversary FF! As a long time reader, first time commenter, i would love to congratulate you on your fantastic organizational skills in reaching 1000 posts on your 3rd anniversary. I am simply amazed on how you can action all these lovely foods, tend to your lovely family and friends and still fit work inbetween! Hope to see many more 1000 posts in the future :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Your blog is wonderful and I read it everyday!! Adds glamour and sparkle to life here on The Farm.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of farms - very glad the cow got a guernsey at the party and was allowed to wear killer shoes. I really hope someone gave her a bucket of champagne and a prawn cocktail, preferably with a paper umbrella. I have it on good advice that cows love retro food.
All the best!

You cannot imagine how much your words have inspired me today. We have been dealt a very unfortunate hand of cards at the moment. Our son is currently going through a bitter separation/divorce and consequently now has limited access to his 3 1/2 yo son. It is heartbreaking for us to see how badly this is affecting him and his son not to mention us as grandparents who were very active in their lives. So, congratulations on your 3rd birthday today and may you continue to touch peoples lives in such a positive way XX
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on many accomplishments - 3 years of a very popular blog, 1000 posts, a beautiful mini FF, and of course, never having chipped polish!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Ff, thank you for having us all at your place 1000 times. You are the consummate host - attentive, funny and genius cook. Love your blog - it is my go-to place on the net which will always entertain and comfort. I am in awe of your ability to communicate with so many with such ease. Also adore your use of the Capital Letter. I wish you continuing good fortune and happiness xx
ReplyDeleteHappy 3rd Birthday FF blog! Love your work! xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your third blog birthday! I always save your blog to read while I eat lunch as I know it will give me a midday pick up. I love that you never under cushion, always accessorise to the max, have superior hair and fantastic polish, not to mention those retrolicious meals you make. Really, I know this is just selected snippits of life, but they are just joyous and they make me happy by default.
ReplyDelete(oh and apologies if this comes up twice, web isses - doh!
Congratulations on 3 years of blogging!
ReplyDeleteI am kind of miserable myself right now for a few reasons, and hoping things will get better. Your blog is helping to sustain me through this. Trying to make the most of life despite the hard times is life's lesson.
Take care and looking forward to the fourth blog birthday celebration!
Many happy champagnes!
am sorry you are miserable. Life's hard lessons can be awful.
DeleteGlad blog is helping.
Stay busy and just keep doing the things that might make you happy xx
Can I just say that I am really enjoying all these lovely comments and thank you for taking the time to write them.
ReplyDeleteWho knew this blog was sustaining so many during the Dark Times?
I feel a bit weepy reading some of the awful things that people are going through.
These are challenging times.
Sometimes a bit of cyber friendship and a sense of cyber community can make all the difference.

FF I can't agree with this enough. This year has been major for my fam and we are.still dealing with sad fallout and basically I just can't think about it too much and distracting myself with small pleasures really helps. Don't stop the music.
DeleteCongratulations on the blog's 3rd anniversary and a big Thank You for bringing your followers so much joy and wonderful advice in your one thousand posts.
ReplyDeleteYour last line of this post is very wise. We should write it down and read it everyday! And if I had a magic wand I would wave it over your head to make every aspect of your life easier and happier!
All the Best!
Happy 3rd Birthday for your blog! I'm sure it was a fab party! I don't always comment, but I rarely miss a post and really enjoy them. Here's to many more blogging years...
ReplyDeleteDear FF,
ReplyDeleteIt is so real that one has hard times and that we seek solace. I think that there is a sense of community on your blog as we have the commonality of enjoying the fuschia you put in our lives. Society has really lost the sense of sharing and here we are able to make connections that otherwise would not happen.
Enjoy the path that has taken you to today and the celebration as your Fuschiaettes thank you.

Condratulations x 2!

Happy Blog Anniversary Faux Fuchsia, a stirling effort in producing 1000 posts over the past three years (also a stirling effort producing such a gorgeous child in that time!).
ReplyDeleteThank you for providing your readers with such interesting reading.
All the best to you and your family for the Festive Season.
Yep, luff the last line 11/10. Run don't walk people, and write it down. With or without chipped nail polish. Happy 3rd birthday, FF, the most colourful, uplifting and witty blog ever!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your entertaining blog. Are there any other blogs
ReplyDeletethat receive as many comments as yours??
I love the picture of your baby sitting by the Christmas tree.
Dear ff
ReplyDeleteThe above comments say it all, you are well loved in blogland. Such fun to tune in each day and read all about the fuchsia-dome and your lovely family. Here's to the next 3 years, and happy birthday to the blog. xx
Christine in Perth
Dear FF .. fuchseria congratulations and a very happy fuchsiaonista birthday to the blog. The world is a happier place for the presence of such a wonderful person and a wonderful blog... or an I just looking at it through fuchsia coloured glasses? Nah! Have a great day and if you are still up for it, lets have another fuchsia coloured year. Judith in Canberra (no new clothes for 12 months)
ReplyDeleteThank you for three years of entertainment and joy!
ReplyDeleteHere's to three more!!!

Happy blog birthday; I remember you starting it back when I used the vogue forums! I never comment as I'm just hopeless in general. I am messy and my nail polish is often chipped, but always nice to read your blog and see photos of food (my fave) and lots of colour which I adore also. Life is a shit storm ATM so keeping myself with colorful fun blogs to keep occupied. Hope you had a nice celebration, there's never a time when champagne isn't appropriate, hey x
ReplyDeleteDear Ms FF, Well done you!!! 1000 highly entertaining posts over 3 years. After you have administered a couple of panadol to the Blog and it feels better, please tell it that it has given me many a belly laugh; encouraged me to want less but better; emboldened me to use more colour; started me talking in Capitals (I Know, Quite Worrying); made me yearn for a Glazed Ham; and divested me of guilt when I clock several hours TV viewing time on a weekend. I know these are uncertain times and that we, none of us, are always living the Life of Reilly but your blog makes me recall a previous Prime Minister who quoted George Bernard Shaw: "Life was not meant to be easy, my child; but take courage: it can be delightful". May the next year of the Blog bring you infinitely more moments of delight than difficulty and may Santa be very kind to you, Mr FF and Little FF. We luff you 11/10, Linda, A and I.
ReplyDeleteDear Linda
DeleteThank you for this generous comment. I luff it that the blog brought us together through lovely M.
Carry on with the Capitals!!
I luff you A and I 11/10 too xxxx
Thank you for a wonderful three years. Your contribution to the tragic plight of Undercushioning is second only to your contribution to the blogosphere vernacular. 11/10, I luff it.
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks Z. Who knew so many people were speaking Fluent FF?
DeleteThanks for reading and for contributing to the Cause of Sparkle x
Bit annoyed that I'm not on the sidebar of this blog. I quite fancy the idea of tripping the light fantastic with butter, cows and pink champagne....although I think I may have actually already done that back in my early 20's. Congrats on 3 happy years. Here's to many more x
ReplyDeleteHi FF,
ReplyDeleteI have just seen the most amazing FF style photo of Laura Bailey attending the Les Miserables premiere in London in the most fabulous fuschia coloured outfit...they even made mention in a Daily Mail article about her being like Barbie and I immediately thought of you! If you google the following, you will see your dopelganger - she looks gorgeous: laura bailey at les miserables
Looking forward to your post about the winners of the lovely giveaways.
Regards,
Lorraine
xx
Dear Lorraine,
DeleteLaura Bailey did good dress but sadly for me she missed one important thing, a brassiere. One does not have to show the world all of ones parts at first glance.
Her style is well known and she is very up to the minute. Great spot Lorraine.

Hi FF
ReplyDeleteLovely comments from so many readers. Thank you for reminding us to appreciate and to accessorise! Reading your blog is better than therapy!
Renie xx
Here's to you FF! I've very much enjoyed reading, laughing and gaining inspiration from your lovely blog.
ReplyDeleteSee how much you are loved and appreciated? I jumped on the sparkle bandwagon thanks to you - I declared a day of sequins at the office, because nothing says construction company like sequins! (the wife of one of our machoist mechanics even sewed a few sequins on one of his blue work shirts). Sparkle being Key, you know. Thank you always for taking so many along on this fun ride with you. You are a gazillion over 10!
ReplyDeleteHappy blog birthday and here's to many many more. I discovered your blog through Vogue forums and have been reading it religiously although I never comment. I wanted to comment today just to let you know how appreciated you are.
ReplyDeleteYou are this stunning perfectly groomed woman, with a gorgeous baby, spotless house, who seems to be good at everything, and instead of hating you because you are so much better than me at everything, I just want to give you a hug.
You are so inspirational and unique so please don't stop blogging any time soon, there is nothing in blogland that's even remotely similar to FF.
Much love,
Jess.
FauxF,
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how you've managed to deal out entertaining, uplifting and immensely colorful posts in bulk through three years straight. There's a reason you have a loyal following; you inspire. And you always follow through and stick it out, and that shows up in the blog and helps people more than you can imagine. May the blog prosper and along with it, the fuchsiadome.
Love,
CD.
Dear FF...you simply are "The Best"
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Wish I was a fly on the wall at the Party Of The Year! Congratulations FF! Love, S.

Hi FF,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and Happy Birthday to the blog. Thanks so much for all the laughs, tears, life mantras and sheer enjoyment you have bought to all of our lives for the last three years. I luff your blog to bits and I hope you stick around for another three years. Cheers Robyn xx
Congratulations FF on this milestone. The comments are one of the many wonderful things about your blog, but I luff your musings on life the most. And I especially enjoy the love that you have for master FF. Here's to the next 1000 posts F xxx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, FF! Your posts made my maternity leave a joy, my son's commencement at his orphanage a little easier to swallow & my return to my law coalface a little less stressful. I too have been blessed with a little man with my big '4' '0' on the horizon. I luff him 11/10 & tell him so all the time. I fear his first word my be luff & those in the know at the orphanage will be recommending a speech therapist. Then again, as Sydneysider's they too may be closet FF addicts.
ReplyDeleteHere's to another 1000 posts!
Dear FF, Congratulations! Excellent commitment to achieve three years and a remarkable 1000 posts. I hope the Not-for-profit nature of the blog changes and you can retire to a champagne lifestyle off it. You deserve it. The blog has sustained me during many long nights feeding tiny babies over the past few years and has been a wonderful way of vicariously enjoying a social life now we live in cultural and gastronomic exile in north QLD. Your unwavering positive spin on life is such a rare treat in these dire times. All the very best. Jx
ReplyDeleteI am actioning a comment.
ReplyDeleteThe brights are 11/10.
When I am reading I am imagining myself at a posh ladies' lunch with pink champagne and a luffly cheeky dessert. In magnificent duds and tidy nails.
Because we all need a little of that every day, no?
Dear Madame FF,
ReplyDeleteYou are my fabulous imaginary lady friend.
Every read of this blog, I am transported to a luffly restaurant, having a ladies' lunch, pleasantly dizzy on pink champagne, sneaking in a cheeky dessert.
Because we all need that, no?
My dear, 11/10.
Cilla
Well done on such an accomplishment. How you make me laugh! And you provide such a service in being a safe place to love the Royals, sequins, and crochet! I'm not so sure such a place exists anywhere else on earth! You are my calorie free guilty pleasure!!
ReplyDeleteAnna from Brizvegas
Congratulations on your bloggy b-day :)
ReplyDeleteFF, YOU sustain us!! Thank you for your part in my more glamorous life.
ReplyDeleteBettina.
PS hope your frenzy of blog posts hasn't been to draining at this time of year!
Happy Blog Birthday FF, and congratulations on your 1000th post!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations FF on your wonderful milestone! So excited for you and have loved reading along as you've race-blogged your way through the past month. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou might like to know that my orange hippeastrums have gone beserk in Adelaide and I call them my "Faux Fuchsia Flowers". You might also like to know I had another "FF Moment" last month when unplanned, my baby nephew and I wore matching (matching in italics!) outfits to my birthday dinner. I love stripes and I love my little nephew (and my sister).
Cheers to you and another 1000 posts. Can we please see an arty photo of your impressive OPI collection sometime soon? xx Alice xx
Happy Birthday to You!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to You!
Happy Birrrthday Dear FF Bloooog!
Happy Birthday to You!
and thank you for 3 years of tripping the light fantastic in Blogland!
I don't have any cushions but I DO HAVE a crocheted (sp?) rug my grandma made for me which has an 'S' in the middle. it goes on the bed. I think cushions fit under clutter for me.... can't cope.
ReplyDeletehappy blogoversary, I remember the three or so brief yet engaging posts from the beginning. Long live the blog.
