Things.

Last night we went to a drinks party in one of the most beautiful homes I've ever been in. Look at the view:
I wore Old School embellished Tibi from Back in the Day

It was a bit like being in a gorgeous Four Seasons Resort. But nicer.
This is Old Mr FF with our friend S.( Lotus she was wearing a Red Phoenix necklace! ) Turns out they wear the same Sir Edmund Hilary-climbs-Everest Rolex watch.
S is going to Honkers today. I hope she doesn't forget to go to Sevva at dusk and Isola on a Sunday. Because the People watching will be 11/10.
This morning we went to Anouk. This is the FF Family coffee order in all it's Glory

 I wore a caftan
Mr FF and our little boy said yes to Colour.

Hotfooted it to Kmart to buy some $2 plate chargers form the Christmas table line.
Saw this festive Barbie. Her hair was excellent.

The Kmart chargers are selling fast. For these prices they won't last. They've got silver red and gold. Run Don't Walk in you're in the market for some.
When I got home I actioned some Miscellaneous Christmas Theming.

These are the stunning remnants I bought from the frenzied fabric sale at Black and Spiro yesterday. The top fabric's Lily Pulitzer but I don't know what the other 2 are. I luff them.
The blog turns 3 in a few days so don't forget to enter our High End Giveaway asap by leaving a comment. The prizes are all Top Shelf and High End. Of course.
Happy Sunday. Can you believe this heat?

  1. That house looks beautiful. I love parquetry.

It's about 24 and extremely pleasant in Melbourne. If only I wasn't inside doing work.

We are having southern fried chicken and tomato/white bean salad for dinner. Hooray.

    1. Mr FF buys all his clothes from Richards and Richards so if they sell pink trousers he'll buy them. He is unafraid of colour.

The man spends about 10 times more than me on clothes.

    2. I'm jealous of Mr FF. I wish I could find that one store to buy all my clothing from, knowing that they will always fit me, be wonderful quality and stylish too. Even better if the store can also whip up a great meal!

Instead I find myself trudging around the shops hoping to stumble upon something attractive and well fitting, all while my stomach grumbles away.

  8. FF, I share your love of Barbie: I am currently coveting the Tim Gunn Barbie at Target. She has truly superior clothes, unlike most of the modern day Barbies, which I am sorry to say tend to be a bit, well, tacky. Not like Barbie back in the olden days (the Sixties) when she wore tres chic outfits with real zippers and lovely fabrics. The Tim Gunn Barbie wears, among other things, a black shiny trenchcoat, I love it!

    1. Dear Jill Ann and FF
About 6 or so years ago we were staying with friends who were then living in Monte Carlo. They took us to the Monaco Doll Museum because there was a special Barbie Exhibition (they have a young daughter). It was amazing. As well as Barbies back to the early days, there was a special set of Barbies dressed by the top couture designers, from memory think it included Dior, Chanel, YSL, etc etc. Beautifully done. Their outfits were beyond exquisite, including accessories.
      Best wishes, Pamela

    2. Oh Pamela, I would have loved that! Some years ago Mattel came out with reissues of some of the original Barbies in their old school outfits; I bought two of each, as collectors' items for my two daughters. They had the black strapless evening gown with the net ruffle at the hem; the pink satin evening gown with the white fur stole; the wedding gown, which very much resembles Princess Kate's; and my favorite, the red velveteen swing coat lined in white satin, with the matching dress with red velveteen bodice and white satin skirt. Any one of those outfits, I would wear myself, had I the figure for it and a place to wear it!

I consider myself a hard core feminist and independent woman, but I really do love Barbie. And I see no contradiction there! I do wish modern day Barbie didn't tend to wear such cheap slutty clothes, though.....

That Barbie has fab hair. Going to do a post soon on my friend Joan's office which has an entire wall devoted to her Barbie collection. FF, you would love it and her office too, so you!
    Have a great weekend!

  10. Hi FF
I think the bottom fabric is Florence Broadhurst? Qantas do little toilet bags in that fabric (not fuchsia though!) in biz class and inside it says Florence Broadhurst. I love it in Fuschia!
Went looking for those exact same charger plates in silver yesterday at Kmart in Sydney - all gone!

  12. Love your outfits. Curious whether you follow Coco Chanel's thing of taking one accessory off before leaving the house (or if you add one instead in a more is more theory?). House looks amazing - love an infinity edge pool.xx

  31. Any Barbie's in the giveway?

I could kick myself for throwing away all my childhod (60s) Barbies ..there was a Boucle suit , red sleevelss dress (some sort of cotton) with the fur trimmed(faux) jacket.

  32. For those of you who didn't know what a charger plate was (me included) According to google it's a larger size serving plate that will make your festive table more festive!
A new word added to my vocabulary and will head to Kmart to see if I can score some of the above.
I am new to your blog FF but clearly it is both decorative and educational.

  33. Dear FF,
I love a post that starts with a green necklace. As you know my signature colour is green so I'm in heaven.
That home looks delish. Very stylish indeed.
Twin watches are the cutest ever.
I hope your sitting down but I've never owned a barbie. How did I get to 45 without one. This must be changed. I did however have a Bioninc Woman doll and my sister had a Wonder Woman doll. My other doll was Velvet the grow hair doll. I recently purchased one from EBay to relive my childhood.
The heat is challenging isn't it. Hard to maintain ones composure.
    Have a great day.

  34. I would love to live in a house that looks like a resort. Looks so cool and spacious. Also, in breaking news, just saw figs at All About Fruit for $30 kg. Practically cheap. The Australian fig season has arrived and I couldn't be happier. Figs for breakfast!

Saw many sparkly things that I thought would suit you, FF.

  41. FF, I must say that your blog adds a certain sparkle to my day. I gather from your Anouk references that we frequent the same neighbourhoods, and it is good to remember your wide ranging and eclectic positivity as I trudge mundanely and meltingly along the road to Woolies to buy milk. Along with Mr FF's pink trousers, which are quite exceptional too!
