Pink and Navy.

Loving navy and pink? Me too. Wore it to the Coalface today. Here's a Visual:
Espadrille wedges divide the masses but I'm a Devoted Fan. They're deadset comfy too.
These one's are from Jean Brown. The online sale's on now, so you'd better Run Not Walk. Which is pretty easy in a wedge heel.
Click to shop here.
All the Big Names have hopped on the Bandwagon. Like the Queen.
 And Jackie's sister Lee
Who it must be said has a superior sofa
Remember this bag I bought at Liberty in 2003? Still going strong People.
Doesn't Old Anna look serious ? Love those necklaces she wears all the time.
Love looking at the millions of photos I've taken of my little boy and seeing how much he's changed. On a sad note, the poor thing's sick. I know. Nothing sadder than a sick toddler.
Fingers and Toes for a speedy recovery.
This was a rose from Grandma's garden. Miss her and think about her every day.
Silk's on the ABC tonight. I can't figure out whether it's a new season or not. Either way I've missed Old Martha. She's fabulous.
Happy weekend.

  4. FF,
Back in the mid seventies I had a pair of white eyelet wedges with ribbons that wound around my ankles. Loved those so much.

The blizzard snow stared about 20 minutes ago. The forecasters keep uping the estimates - now 12-18".

PS: Fashon Week in NYC - just heard that platform shoes are on their way out - thank goodness!

  9. Gee I am loving your colour palette! I am encouraged to be unafraid of colour in my wardrobe. I am off to Barcelona for one week next week and am a bit nervous about how to look stylish whilst packing lightly and with a hubby and two littlies in tow. Trying to plan a weekly menu is far easier for me than planning a weekly wardrobe! BTW, did baby FF take to a baby doll by any chance? My nearly-three-year-old boy was besotted with his Baby John and stroller. Was truly adorable. Keep on posting (for the greater good). Xoxo

  16. Dear Ms FF, Very sad to hear the baby is sick! Poor little thing — I hope he feels better soon and that you are getting some rest too (dealing with grumpiness is very tiring). I am loving all the colour of your posts, yellow, orange and pink - it makes me want to throw out all the black in my wardrobe but I can't as I can't shop this Feb (damn that Frugal February!). I am putting together a raised vege bed (DYI from Bunnings) today. Very exciting and a little terrifying — I know the talk I have with the dirt people will brand me a complete idiot! Hoping you have a lovely weekend. love Lindaxxx

Got a bit teary reading this comment because I do really miss my Grandma. I mean apart fro your parents who's going to ever love you as much and always be on your side.

She died when I was 38, and she was my 1st Grandparent to die so I think it affected me more than it would have if I'd been younger.

      She never met my son.

That always makes me a bit sad too.

  21. Dear FF,

I heartily concur, pink and navy are splendid. I am luffing the necklace you wore with the combo to the coalface (have I told you I always chuckle when I read that as my Mister actually does work at the grotty coalface) yesterday.

A rose from your Grandma's garden is just the loveliest thing. I wish I had something like that from my Grandma. She died when I was 36 and I've struggled with it a lot more than my other 4 grandparents who died when I was much younger.

Boo hiss for the baby being sick :( Most of the chillens in our family are sick at the moment too, it's all too nasty.

Anyhoo, hope you have a luffly weekend,

    eeeeee!

I need to incorporate more hot pink, I think.

I miss my Nanna. I was in Spain when she died. My mum rang and said "Nanna would want you to stay there" and I just imagined my Nanna saying "Noooo! Don't come back! Stay there!" And I stayed. And had a wine or three for her.

I really missed her when I went through my marriage breakdown, I think she would have understood. The bond between children and grandparents is very special, don't you think?

    Anyway, babble over.

    Stay fabulous.

Also love Martha in Silk. Have missed her too. I've seen that episode before but enjoyed watching it again.

Off to my aquarobics class soon, then a long lunch with a friend before heading home to continue the decluttering.

Saw Les Mis yesterday and loved it. Gave it a 8/10 and thought Hugh Jackman was brilliant.

Wore pink today with orange toenails - hope this meets with your approval FF. Nothing like as glamorous as your outfits though - you have set the bar very high indeed.

Back to the decluttering tomorrow !

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and hope the little one is starting to feel better.

  24. You put together the most beautiful spread of images! You obviously have a creative spirit! The navy and pink combo has inspired me to put together new outfits from my existing wardrobe (being on a wardrobe diet and all). I have tried espadrilles but just can't seem to walk comfortably in them. I think I am the only living person who finds them klompy.

  25. This post was very special and it made me teary - it shines with so much love for your grandmother. I can identify: both my grandmothers were Scottish and I loved them dearly. One lived here and one back home (I was named for her). I still think of them all the time, despite losing them at 13 and 24. I think of my maternal gran EVERY time I hang out my washing - she was reknowned for her fabulously clean washing, a very big deal back in the day in Scotland.

J.K. Rowling wrote in the third Harry Potter book, "You think the dead we have loved ever truly leave us? You think we don't recall them more clearly than ever in times of great trouble? Your father is alive inside of you, Harry, and shows himself most plainly when you have need of him." It's not hard to see Rowling was thinking of her late mother when she gave these lines to Dumbledore. To me, these words resonate for my two grandmothers and two of my uncles. And I think they'd be very fitting for your beloved grandmother, whom you honour so highly and dearly. xx

    **********

P.S. Three weeks ago or so, I tried on the same Loubie peeps, but because of my oddly-shaped feet, I channelled something akin to a Cinderella's wicked step-sister... I am waitlisted for the next shipment of black Very Prive peeps in my size. First World Problems? Well, I only read this blog because it's not about world peace, is it?!?!?

  27. Your love of colour at work is inspiring. I normally wear black clothes to work everyday however as I'm pregnant I have broken out my very colourful maternity wardrobe. I notice more people smile and talk to me when I wear colourful outfits, as opposed to when I wear all black. Do you find the same?

  28. Love all of the pink and navy!! I think I need to incorporate more of both into my life. I agree with what someone up above said-the navy is classic, while the pink adds the fun!!

  31. I love everything about this post. Pink and Navy is like Preppy 101, I swear. I am redoing my closet and pink doesn't really work with any of my other pieces but with so much navy being added I feel all the pink can stay just to work with the navy. Naughty me, haha :)

  32. Navy. No black was every allowed in my family unless someone died. Navy just was. I love your pairing it with pink.
Roses. Your Grandmother's rose brings back lovely Midwestern summers at Grandma Pearl's cottage from my childhood.
The scent, the summer wind, the love.
You have breathed in the rose of your Grandma and it shines out of you-we are privileged to "watch her" thru you.
They are watching us,cheering for us,loving us. I just wish I could put my arms around them one more time.

  35. There is something very very special about the love from your grandparents. I know, as I was brought up by mine - from the age of two until I got married and left home in my twenties. They showered me with their love, they didn't have much money but they made up for it in hugs kisses and fun times. I had a lovely childhood. My grandparents passed away quite a few years ago, it would have been my grandma's birthday tomorrow 10th Feb, I will be thinking of her all day, wishing she was here with me.

My grandparents never met my sons either. This makes me sad, as I know how much my boys would have loved them. My heart aches for my grandparents some days. So I well understand the love you have for yours. I do hope master ff is feeling better soon. Take care and enjoy your weekend.
PS lovely colourful post today ff - thank you xxxxxxxxxx

Nothing in this post is against the premise of Frugal (no e in Frugal) Feb- it's all photos from the archive apart from 1 outfit photo!

I've bought no clothes, books, accessories, newspapers, magazines, decorating items or other non essential stuff.

I've been using up my pantry items and taking all my meals from home.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my blog.
