Isn't Joanna Lumley Absolutely Gorgeous? She has a beautiful voice and is so warm and empathetic.
I want to be her friend and find out how she actions her superior hairdo. Her son is, wait for it...45!
Here she is in her Youth as Purdey in the Avengers:

Here she is in her Youth as Purdey in the Avengers:
And as Old Patsy in Ab Fab:
Her documentary about searching for the Northern Lights in one of my favourites
Anyway. This was Me today. In OPI Big Apple Red and an Hermes scarf arrangement with a Maitai scarf ring.
Someone asked if I matched my lipstick to my polish. Good Question.
Generally Yes, but Today No. I lived on the Edge and wore (Crosses Self) what could only be described as Lip Gloss. I know. We are So Through the Looking Glass. I hope the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse aren't about to ride into Town or anything Sinister.
I luff the Farmers Markets. Especially that Paella Man and his huge giant pans (that stuff is Delicious)
Tonight when I got home from the Coalface, I made some restorative home made from scratch chicken broth. For Medicinal Purposes. All that mindless stirring and chopping was dead set Soothing.
Am currently Garden obsessed. Don't ask me why or how, I just am. Maybe because it needs me so much at the moment. Before the week end is over every terracotta pot will be replanted, things will be pruned, fertiliser will be chucked around, cuttings will be shoved in in bulk and weeds and other filthy interlopers will be Removed.
You have less than 24 hours left to win a Fuchsia Jubilee Necklace. Guaranteed to get you upgraded on all Long Hall International flights! You know the Drum- Leave me a comment.
Run Don't Walk.
It's named in the Queen's Honour. She looks so sweet in Neutrals.
Prepare yourself Emotionally Jewel and Mary lovers because look what arrived in the post from my friend Fifi:
Exciting! Thanks Fi. Also I am loving this McQueen outfit on Kate. A cream knit it a tough look to action but she makes it work.
Dying to get your mitts on some Chloe stuff marked down by 20%? Me too. You'd better pop over to Jean Brown online and enter CHLOE20 at the checkout. The sale runs from tomorrow til Sunday. Don't thank me- I'm here to Help.
The Baby stands on his own now. Walking cannot be Far Away.
xxxx

I don't know how you can be bothered to cook after working all day, what time you have dinner? I can't go a minute past 6pm.
ReplyDeleteI eat at 7 because that is when the baby is in bed.
DeleteI like to cook. I find it relaxing x
I'm one of those ravenous types who must eat as soon as my keys are down at night.
DeleteMary and Kate would both look fab in the Fuchsia Jubilee Necklace....although let's face it, they don't need to be upgraded on long haul flights. My husband went out to lunch with Mary's husband when last they were in town, Mary was supposedly at home looking after all of their children. Rx
ReplyDeleteNot that Joanna's not gorgeous now but wasn't she stunning in The Avengers.. even with a less than glam haircut.
ReplyDeleteAnd you might need to reconsider your lip gloss aversion - that one looks lovely on you.
Hope the broth does the trick.
I absolutely understand your affection for Joanna. I think she's just wonderful. I could listen to her all day long. She'll always be Patsy to me ;)
ReplyDeleteBaby FF will be so gorgeous! My baby nephew has just started walking also and it's adorable watching him toddle around. His Mother on the other hand is run ragged! Rest up and prepare for the best exercise regime of your life FF ;)
Love the scarf arrangement, wish I was brave enough to embrace a scarf in such a fashion...
ReplyDeleteAye Carumba - an international upgrade now?? I need that post haste for my mother when she travels with us to the US next year, poor lady suffers badly in a back pain sense in economy.
In other exciting news my RPE Summer Wintour arrived this morning as I was leaving the house, scarily it was exactly what my dress needed. compliments all round at my coalface, which is more like a gulag than coalface.
May the blessing of a thousand jewish mothers bless your chicken broth and heal you - stat.

Get well soon.
ReplyDeleteAnother great post. I have Big Apple Red, a Hermes Scarf or five, a MaiTai scarf ring too. We're practically Twins!
The only thing I don't have is....wait for it....a Fuchsia Jubilee Necklace.
This may need to be actioned...pronto.
[Did I get enough Fuchsia-isms in there?]
Have always thought highly of Princess Mary. I once flew to Denmark to interview her, but the interview was cancelled. So I went to Paris instead. But it wasn't quite the same! I lived in Denmark for a period so I know how difficult the language is, but she has mastered it like a pro. Just love her style!
ReplyDeleteDid you see the tabloid photos of Kate on honeymoon in the Seychelles? Oh my. Those stomach muscles would have surely impressed Will on The Wedding Night.
So exciting about Baby FF! He'll be getting ready for the Toddler Triathlon soon...
I love that picture of the Queen, the hat, the mac .. everything is perfect. I want HER to be my friend ; no, wait a minute, I want to be her !! As for Joanna Lumley, I once worked in a restaurant in London where Joanna Lumley used to come. She was just as beautiful and simple in real life as on TV.XX
ReplyDeleteI think Ms Lumley needs to be added to your sidebar!
ReplyDeleteOooh, baby ff standing? The "heart in your mouth" toddling stage is only moments away... Good luck!
x
I am shocked with the gloss! But in a good way.
ReplyDeleteConsider this also my Jubilee necklace entry. I would say I'm a stalwart as I follow you on bloglovin', Facebook and Instagram. Read stalwart not stalker.
The queen does look absolutely amazing in tan. Chic, even.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post - Patsy and paella-from-markets are two of my favourite things. Throw in Kate and Mary and I'm in blog heaven. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Baby FF standing - how cute!
ReplyDeleteGuaranteed international upgrade hey!? It's never happened to me (despite my best efforts) so perhaps it's the FF Jubilee Necklace I need!
How is the Bush Turkey situation in your garden? They've left our place but have been replaced by possums in the roof - arrghh!
How do you have so much energy, even when you're sick??? Love you in the lipgloss.
ReplyDeleteWait - Joanna has a 45 year old son? How old does that make me? Yikes!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Farmers Market Paella Man and his huge pans.
Congrats to baby FF for standing on his own dainty feet! Joanna says she thinks nothing of cutting and dying her own hair!! When I try that I have to go into self-imposed solitary confinement until it grows out.
ReplyDeleteI love Joanna and the Northern Lights doco was one of my faves. But the one on an island when she made slippers out of her bra - that's priceless.
ReplyDeleteFuchsia Jubilee necklace is lovely and regal. Didn't you say it can wash dishes and sweep floors? Yes please!
Joanna = FF in 30 years' time.
ReplyDeleteThat Royal Jewels DVD looks really gripping - Assouline did a book on HMtheQs jewels which I coveted like mad but it was £££ x 'spensive. I think I like books about jewels more than jewellery LOL!
Jeepers I need that necklace desperately, it would allow me quaff champas up the front enroute to Hawaii next week while my husband sat in the back with our one and two year olds. I would pretend I did not know them when they screeched "mamaaaa" in my direction. JL is indeed so beautiful and I thought The Queen was marvelous in that beige get-up and she looked so well and cheery too.
ReplyDeletehello my dear ff
ReplyDeletei love the thought of baby standing and walking. so exciting.
your garden will be great in the spring, good idea to work it now.
I love Joanna too...Pasty is seriously a classic comic genius performance. I usually like cooking but am finding it a bit of a nightmare at the moment because my toddler won't eat my dinners and I end up eating it, and any baking I do I basically end up eating more than I should. I need to start giving it to neighbors.
ReplyDeleteHa I mean Patsy!
DeleteFF, make sure you keep checking the back of your head... For your other set of eyes. Most women women are born with 4 eyes you know, the 2 at the back of my head only started working overtime when my firstborn started walking :p
ReplyDeleteI have to say I am a huge fan of the way Kate dresses. Her sailor type dress here on your post is one of my favourite looks from her. And she always get her choice of footwear spot on!
Joanna Lumley doesn't look old enough to have a 45 year old son. She looks fantastic.
So baby FF has reached the stumble and grab stage, tres cute! I bet the Jubilee necklace is as soothing as chicken soup, (when that is required). I used to work in a Kosher take away and I know!
ReplyDeleteMy Baby is standing this week too! So exciting- I love it when they start walking, should be any day now! I love cooking as well, even when I was working full time I'd enjoy getting into the kitchen when I got home. My husband makes a mean paella and I think I'm going to have get him to make it this weekend after seeing that photo!!
ReplyDeleteJoanna is stunning isn't she, her voice is like silk. I've loved her travel docco's recently. Speaking of stunning, the jacket and scarf look is ab-fab. Probably the only thing I miss about getting up and dragging myself into my coalface is getting dressed up in jackets and H scarves. Not much call for that at the minute. I'm sending the FF garden lots of 'luff', its getting some TLC, it will luff you back come spring.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as though you have a soulful connection to your garden FF - to know that it needs you so much now! But it sounds exhausting. How, when the great chainsaw massacre of 2012 was such a painfully short time ago, do you STILL need to get out and prune??? Does sound as though you need to put in now while you still can - I don't speeak from experience, but I hear walking babies can be very time consuming!
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing Big Apple Red at the moment too. All time favourite.
ReplyDeleteAnd as fate would have it, planning on wearing thin horizontal stripes with my nails on Saturday in honour of Bastille Day :-)
I am so in love with your spectacular necklace and the fact you think that the Queen looks sweet in neutrals. You are the best . I love that I got to read you twice today.
ReplyDeleteI've watched her trip around Greece on tv, and re-watched her Nile trip as well. Makes me want to go to Greece and Egypt even more.
ReplyDeleteLove Joanna Lumley, especially as Patsy - an impossibly tall, thin, blonde and meticulously groomed friend (and shorter, chubbier me)take any opportunity to dress up as Patsy and Eddie, drink Bolly and be generally outrageous and age-inappropriate. JL looks just stunning for her age! Have only seen one of her documentaries but will obtain some more asap. Her autobiography is fascinating too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on baby FF standing - sounds terrible cute!
I can't get enough of Maitai and her fantastic scarf arrangements. I never thought I would don a scarf but I am and I continue to! That lip gloss is fantastic! I'm a lipgloss fan from way back. Prep is the key!
ReplyDeleteRosana
I must have that necklace!! If it is has super powers, it can help me plan my wedding while doing house reno's at the same time!
ReplyDeleteHi FF
ReplyDeleteI hope the Jubilee necklace picks up new skills like putting away baby toys, making chicken soup for sick mummas, scaring off bush turkeys and other varmits etc. If it could find a cure for man-flu then it deserves a Nobel prize nomination.
Susan x
Thanks for the head's up on the J.L. documentary- I didn't know of it's existence. I am a fan of "Patsy" big time!
ReplyDeletexx
PS. Congrats on little wobbly man!
Do you want baby FF to walk or run? tee hee! Bribe him with cadburys or broken up lindt chocolate and do it when he is tired, they all give in to their fears and try new things at night time, especially with a bit of chocolate as the reward. Don't worry he won't remember how you used Choc as a reward= obesity!
ReplyDeleteI adore JL too, but I think she has adopted rather too much of Patsy's makeup look into her normal life. I always think she'd look much prettier without all the black around her eyes.
ReplyDeleteI adore that TV series. So many jewels. That's one of the things I am very much looking forward to when I go the UK - the Jubilee Diamond exhibition at Buckingham Palace. So excited.
ReplyDeleteI love Joanna Lumley. So Elegant.
K xx
Oh Joanna Lumley is simply divine. Did you see her on The Nile, watching sunset, she was talking about her son James - his nickname was the same as the Indian (Punjabi i guess) for sunset, made her tear up, she's perfection!!
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe i was lucky enough to see the Queen (1m away) & Princess Mary last year, in the flesh, she touched my hand, she's beautiful & their husbands worship them!! Still giddy. Next stop Kate Middleton, stunning & a nice poster girl for naturally skinny girls, yes, there are some out there!!
Finally, just mentioned on you on my blog, had a pedicure with my teenager with some OPI fun, it was awesome. I hope i look as good as Joanna when my son is 45, I'll be, eek, i freshly turned 74. His 3 big sisters had better soak me in milk or whatever kept Cleopatra so supple. Love Posie
PS have you seen Joanna's young modelling work in knitting pattern books, pure hilarity!! Love Posie
ReplyDeleteLoving Joanna's bob, loving the queen in neutrals & loving you in lip gloss!
ReplyDeleteLove Joanna. She did look amazing on the Avengers and still does! Can't believe she has a son my age.. Love Kate's outfit she wore to Wimbledon and last year's also.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you baby is standing! So fun..
xo
Kim
FF I too am totally entranced with JL. Even my 24 year old son was drawn in the other night by her wonderful story-telling of Greece. He ended up sitting with me and watched the entire show (not his usual TV viewing I can assure you!) - opened his viewing eyes up! She is just a gorgeous, graceful, wise woman. x Julia
ReplyDeleteDon't shun me for what I am about to confess. I only ever wear lip gloss. Cannot stand the feel of lipstick.
ReplyDeleteTDM xx
Joanna is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat?! You are wearing lip gloss??? What is the world coming to? I see you actioned a classic FF updo to avoid the hair stuck in lipgloss situation. Very smart. V exciting that Baby FF is now standing on his own. Clever boy! FF, what does Baby FF do when you are in the garden? Does he hang out with his Daddy?
ReplyDeleteI remember my older sister getting the 'purdey' haircut - it was very popular and suited her well.
ReplyDeleteMiss Lumley is amazing, beautiful inside and out.
And baby FF is walking - yay - well done
Diana
