Stuff.

I wish it would cool down so I could consciously get cracking on some unfinished crochet projects
In the last few weeks I've been decluttering everything I can get my hands on in fits and spurts and have lots of stuff ready to take to the Salvos and consignment place. And don't think I'm finished yet either.
Meanwhile you know how ever since I watched the doco Mademoiselle C I've admired Carine Roitfeld?
Well here are some Visuals. Her daughter is gorgeous too
And how cute is this matching outfit with her grand daughter Romy?
It's been turned into a painting:
I've decided to say no to pudding and yes to exercise. Who's with me? And how are you staying motivated?
I'd forgotten how long my son's hair was. Feels like 2 minutes ago, but it was almost a whole year ago.
Janet if you are reading I still love this bracelet!
This is a nice view at the Grove. David Hicks was so clever with framing views.
How nice is this attractive Richard Noura giraffe scarf.? Look:
This is me and my friend R at the V and A in London last year
And at the Chelsea Flower show
And this is R's quince tree in her garden in Hobart!!! So Jealous! I wish I could grow one here. Mum can you see if Dad can source me a box of them before you're next up? I'd make it worth your while!
Happy Friday People.
Any exciting weekend plans?
xxxx

Did you know in japan they make a paintbrush with the lock of a toddlers hair for keepsake? Fall cleaning is just as good as spring cleaning xx

I had no idea quinces didn't grow in the tropics. Hopefully yr dad can source some. People don't use them round here, Mum is swimming in them.

    2. Re: sleep remedies. I have recently tried Melatonin - have you tried that at all - all natural apparently?? I have found it quite effective. My favourite late night ABC radio presenter Tony Delroy has been advocating it for years. I work rotating shift roster so changing sleep patterns has always been a problem.

  4. Ooo-a quince tree would be lovely! Fruit bearing trees are a lot of work though, at least around these parts. More work than buying fruit, anyway. Im trying to cut back on the work, consciously

  5. When the weather is cooler (a bit cooler, May) I love to get out and walk in the morning if it's cool enough. I really long to live somewhere with longer winters. That Richard Noura giraffe scarf is very attractive. I need to get on with some decluttering too! Clutter be gone.

  6. I do group personal training. Very effective plus the trainer expects me to go. Maybe get a bunch of girlfriends together then go for a coffee after. If other people are expecting you, you are less likely to pike out.
    Stay lovely x

  7. I adore CR since watching the film. I just wish I could look past my hairdressing DNA and not feel compelled to brush her hair, but she carries the disheveled look well. Thoughts?
When is it going to cool down so I can haul out my scarves!

  8. Dear FF
I am from Cape Town, but was in Brisbane last week as my brother got married in Maleny. I loved the city, but couldn't believe the heat and humidity! I see now why you need up-dos to keep your hair under control on certain days. I think I would have to shave my head...
It was my first visit to Australia, so here's a list of 5 Australian things that I loved and deserve 11/10:
    1. Beaches and warm sea (Cape Town's sea is usually about 12-14 degrees)
    2. Koalas
    3. Yoghurt - best ever
    4. Asian-inspired food
    5. David Jones and Myer - although not so affordable with a third world currency

  9. You are my 'go-to' blog. I had all sorts of other stuff to read in the inbox and I saw 'Stuff' and went straight to it. Love Carine's style, it's slightly sort of expensive grungy but cool.
Tomorrow, I am going to Melbourne for a long weekend to stay on the Paris End of Collins Street!!! I am Excited. Will window shop at Christine's, and have dinner at Vue du Monde. I know, Lucky. Xx
But nonetheless, still as excited to be at home doing nought. :D!!!

  10. My Dad's quince tree is about to start bearing fruit... just as the figs finish at my in-laws place. I do like a quince cake.
Love the pic of the tidy shoes and bags. I like looking at my shoes all lined up on the shelf. It's one spot of permanently regimented order in my house! xx

  11. I'll come out of the closet and i'm saying no to pudding and yes to exercise to Michelle Bridges no less. I'm doing a 12 week body transformation. TRANSFORMATION! That said I've come down sick this week and already fallen off the exercise wagon. Will remount when I get better. Childcare is to blame.

Off to google that divine giraffe scarf xxx

  14. Hi FF, you have what can only be described as superior decluttering skills. I struggle - will confess I am almost a hoarder - but seriously trying really hard.

    Luff CR she is iconic.

Enjoyed your consciously good post as well - we all need to be conscious as we uncouple.

Have a marvellous weekend. I have a language lesson then a bday party for a family friends kid then netball maybe some personal maintenance followed by high tea - the rugby the debauchery with Sunday mass, puppy school, groceries, decluttering & dinner with the inlaws

  16. As with Flora, I always think "Goody!" when I see your emails. Stuff is a great title of cornucopia of goodness here today. How cute is granmama-grandaughter combo. My sister had Mum make her leopard sundress and her Leah got one too, must post that.

  17. Those shots with R bring back so many happy memories! Such a beautiful blue bracelet. Also love the fabulous scarf, so you FF! And the gardens.

How lovely to enjoy looking at your own beautiful shoes! Can just imagine H's leopards and shoes of shame glowing on the shelf (still remember the fabulous faux leopard coat that got away!). Sadly have had to give almost all my beautiful heeled shoes to Op Shops or to friends (kept one or two, like high anthracite leather with crystal beaded panel on front I wore to son's wedding, just to remember nostalgically). My shoes now v unglamorous and un-ornamental so keep them hidden in boxes. Must find Mme C's doco. Love the Mum and g.daughter leopard combo.

Good luck with the exercise and yoga. Hope it helps. Believe sleep-wise it's generally better to exercise first thing rather than in the hour or two before bed. Pammie xxxx

  18. I have fallen off the exercise bandwagon most terribly, must get back on but I have been terribly work busy - have actually been working much of today which is annoying but necessary for my mental health.

I luff that painting of matching coats and shoes. You really are never too young or old for red shoes and leopard print.

Quince is fab. I am currently searching out a fauxrocian tagine featuring quince, can't wait to try it.

  19. Usually I read and have hundreds of things to comment on when I get to the box, but this time all that stuck in my head was "say no to pudding and yes to exercise"! Yikes! I get plenty of exercise and balance it out with plenty of desserts, but I'm with you as soon as I get back from Ireland. Should we start slow, like "no" to puddings on weekdays?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh I desperately need to say yes to exercise, I'm with you.
I had a friend visit Melbourne for the first time last week. It would have been horribly unfair to not show her the highlights of my city (which includes a lot of food) and so we ate all the things. Now I need to roll myself into the gym come Monday morning. Life is just not fair.
